First of all, sorry for the name, but I like this kind of army name for Eldar. With the release of the new codex I've been thinking about getting my Eldar outof the box again, and when flipping through it, I came across the Dire Avenger Shrine formation, which would fit perfectly for my love of those aspects, and I decided to try to cobble an army together based only on these warriors. So, without further ado, I present my latest list. Please tell me what you think about it, and how totally it would get massacred in a battle.

Formation: Dire Avenger Shrine

10 Dire Avengers, Wave Serpent, Twin-linked Bright Lances, Shuriken Cannon, Ghostwalk Matrix. 265

And that is where I got stuck. I'm wondering about what to do with the final 260 points that I have left. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why no exarchs? I think if you're going to go full Dire Avengers, then you at least need their exarchs .

As for the remaining points... you could make a small CAD of Farseer and Windriders. But honestly I'd consider maybe dropping one of those shrines to get a warhost so that your Dire Avengers get 6" run and your list isn't so one-dimensional.

IIRC, you have to take an exarch in one of the DA units in the shrine formation.

I'm with Zimko. Drop one of the shrines and round out the army. The warhost bonus is pretty decent, especially if you can make it a windrider host as the core. You don't have to sacrifice the theme - three full units of DAs as a shrine formation is totally rad, and still makes it the focus of your army without completely relying on them and their transports.

If you take one of the shrine formations, and use a CAD for the others, you get an interesting mix. Some of your DAs are going to be BS5 from the formation, but the CAD ones are going to be ObSec.

And by using the CAD, you have the option to take stuff a la carte. Like tacking on a single crimson hunter for air support. You have plenty of troops, just need a HQ. It’s not like the Eldar ones suck, grab one you like.

You do not have to take an exarch, you can take one but it is not a requirement

To be honest I don't really like the Exarch, they don't really help the shooting, even diminishing it when equiped for melee, which I try to avoid anyways. I might have gone overboard on the two shrines, but I tend to face rather huge hordes of infantry, and 120 bs5 shots per turn can make a serious dent in them. And of course, having all of my favorite models finally be useful without overly loud cries of cheese (like the old serpents) would be really nice. So yes, the basic idea is just getting them all onto the table. I think that I have anti-infantry covered by now, but am still struggling a bit with anti-tank, and also anti-air. For those I would probably want to ally in someone, or use some other eldar forces, but I'm wondering about which ones to choose, and what would really be needed to make this core work.
