Specifically wondering if Incorporeal Bodies combos with the assailants to make those d6 attacks rending.
Rending makes the lord's close combat attacks rend as he him self has the rule. And the assailants attack in close combat at initiative step 10.

To me it seems that they would not benefit from any effects from the warlord aka no rending, but I'd like to see what others think about this?

A good start would be what is the specific wording of these Incorporeal Bodies?

Its from the effect on the possesed table..you get rending. As in the model get's it. And the assailants is the name of the warlord trait. Models in base contact withe warlord take d6 hits at iniative 10.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Assailants doesn't specifically mention the warlord, just that models in base contact with him get hit. Which is why I don't think those attacks get rending, but I'm curious to see if anybody play that differently.

Sounds like you're right that the extra hits aren't rending - but I'm not certain. I can't cite a similar rules precedent, nor can I find anything specific in the rulebook.

Would a HoW attack made by a model with rending get the bonus?

Also wow, each MODEL in b2b takes d6 hits? That could be pretty rough.

They're only str 3 lol, but yes. They do indeed each take d6.

I am pretty confident that HoW attacks would gain rending and that they would use the actual weapon. Which is why HoW specifically forbids those those two things.

Assailants has a different wording. It just says that those models are hit. I don't really know what to compare it to.

But it made me think of the combat familiar. That seems to be the character making the attacks from a rules perspective. Though they are limited to str 4 and AP -, but I don't see that stopping the attacks from getting rending due to the character having the rule, or soulblaze from the warlord trait or even Fiery Form. If those can benefit from rending, then I wouldn't see Spectral Assailants as being that much of a stretch.
At this point I'd still lean toward the answer being no, but I'm not quite as convinced as I was.
