Hello, I got interested in W40K after playing through Space Marine on PS3 when it was free for PS+ members. At first i kinda chuckled how Titus looked like Buzz Lightyear, but then I was taken by how badass it was firing the heavy bolter in the greenskin hordes. Since then I have built several armies.

Astra Militarum 3610
CSM 3731
SM 1626
Tyranids 1219
Tau 1130
Orks 2519
Necrons 1600
GK 1950
Imperial Knights 375

Let me ask you this; how plausible would it be that my Grey Knights are actually a psyker special force of my Space Marine chapter? Couple of my models have been converted from Dark Vengeance models and therefore carry DA icongraphy.

IT IS THE BAAAANEBLAADE!

I would say not very plausible given the official fluff.

Compared to regular marines (which are rarer than rocking horse poop compared to the likes of IG) librarians are an order of magnitude rarer still. I would say that at full strength, a Chapter would struggle to field more than 20 librarians let alond a 2000-point force!

THAT SAID...

It is your army and you can create your own fluff. I am building a Space Marine army that will be painted as Deathwatch and led by Pedro Kantor. My fluff is that in the aftermath of Rynn's World, the High Lords of Terra ordered the Chapter disbanded and, given their expertise in xenos warfare, were permanently seconded to the Deathwatch.

I think it's kinda cool. Fluff-purists would hate it. That;s the benefit of our hobby - we can agree to disagree and do something cool.

And a 2000-point Librarius IS COOL!

Wow dude. Space Marine only came out like, what, four years ago? And it's not like you even played it at release - since then you've accumulated no less than NINE armies? Over half of which are over the 1500 point mark?!? I've been collecting for a solid decade and change, and I've only got TWO armies, only one of which is over 1500 points!

What's your secret? Sold a few organs? Not to mention all that time building and painting... very impressive collection!

Back on topic - like moogy said, it's your army, make the fluff your own. I don't think it's too egregious to justify a GK allied detachment as a "librarius" or something along those lines. Imagine every librarian, from the new guys to the head librarymans, in the chapter rolls out together...

Just putting most of my spare money into models. No car, no bad habits and eat cheaply. No job or school so I have plenty of time for painting.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...
