Good day eveyone!!! I'm almost done painting my current project, so I'm already looking forward a new one. Lately, Daemons have caught my eyes, due to the upcoming new edition of Fantasy. So I wanted a list that only use Daemons model, so I can play both game if I ever get dragged into Fantasy. After reading through the Khorne Daemonkin codex, I saw the Charnel Cohort Formation. I can work with that I imagine! So here is my pitch at a 1250 cohort list. Keep in mind that I never played daemon before, so I don't know much about standard option gear I should take and what not. The reason why I have 2 instrument of chaos is to make sure the Skull Cannon tag along (I don't want to deepstrike it alone). I'm not sure how should I deploy, what to keep in reserve. My initial plan was to DS from reserve 2 squad of bloodletters, the Thorne with the crusher (if they can join in 1 squad, not sure) and maybe the 2 cannon. Last question is: Should I use the formation, or simply CAD since I respect it?

The D-thirster is good. He acts as a fire magnet and if he engages anything it will die.

I have had good luck with the following:

HQ
Jugger Lord w/ 60pt BT axe

Troops:
cultists

FA:
Heldrakes
Dogs

Heavy Support:
Soul Grinders
Maulerfiends, but only when I ran with 3

The gorepack:
5 man units of dogs
3x bikes w/ 2x meltas

other thoughts:
bloodletters arent worth it, they die way too easily. Spawn are a bit too expensive and not t6 compared to nurgle ones

Thanks for the feedback, but it's not really helping me making a list of daemons model only (so I can play fantasy too like I said in OP).

The bloodthirster of insensate rage. He has a strength D axe. Hence, D-thirster.

If you stick with just daemons, then hounds are your best unit, letters and crushers the worst.

Fantasy gets soul grinders right? Consider those.

I know it's not fantasy but helldrakes are good.

I had a good feeling for the hounds, but I'm sorry to learn that the bloodletters and crushers aren't good. I really love those models lol Make me even re-consider trying chaos since I wanted the blood tide little demons army. Oh well haha
