I'm esp. waiting for an update to Astra Militarum and an Ork Codex with formations (and hopefully making them competitive)

I know once Warhammer Fantasy hits everything will slowwwww down.

Any thoughts on the future 40k releases for the next year until summer 2016?

I will be both pissed off and happy if Tau update. Pissed off because I will have 20 old, ugly Crisis Suits, and happy because I'll be able to paint new, amazing Crisis Suits.

Chaos, Orks, Dark Eldar, and Tyranids get universal debuffs and point increases across the board for all of their ALEs.

But then they also get formations that has special rules that make an army so overwhelmingly unstoppable and OP that no one will play against them if the formations are used.

Heads explode, hilarity ensues.

Orks, Dark Eldar & Tyranids will get OP formations.

Chaos will just continue to get gakked on, because Loyalist players won't allow us to have anything remotely cool without whining to GW about how we're stealing everything that makes their Speesh Muhreens unique.

If anything, we'll see Marks get removed entirely and a new army special rule that allows any IoM army to roll a D6 before the game begins, on a 1+, they automatically win because... "reasons."

DA, Tzeentch and Tau are rumoured to be up next (obviously DA confirmed). After that, choose at random.
Possible that "larger" factions - IG/Chaos will get an Xmas release to try and drive up sales. Nids etc perhaps late Autumn.

Haha, I'm gonna start a drinking game, where every time Experiment 626 posts a post complaining about CSM in a thread specifically not about CSM I have to take a drink. If he also says something about how IoM get anything they point at, or any other type of IoM hate in the same post, I have to take a double and if he claims people still assault CSM for being OP, I have to down the whole beer.

I'm gonna be smashed tonight.

I dunno but if Tzeench turns out to be actually good...

God, they could release updated Rubrics and Ahriman to get rid of the Finecast.... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've been waiting so long for playable thousand sons.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I'm not holding my breath on it personally... The Khorne Daemonkin release would have been literally THE perfect time to update those old, goofy & very tired plastic Berserkers, but instead we got absolutely nothing.

And again, considering that the KDK codex changed absolutely nothing at all in regards to profiles/rules of anything, beyond the army-wide 'BftBG', some wargear & Blood Tithe pts system, I highly doubt the rumored Tzeentch book will bring any changes in terms of pts ajustments or rules re-writes to the units themselves... Likely just a similar cut and paste of whatever units GW decides to give us, and a new armoury page with a few new relics and the odd Daemonic weapon/upgrade being more widely available. (ala Axe of Khorne being purchasable by CSM characters for example.)

Actually, what I'd want even more than plastic Rubrics though *IF* we do indeed get a Tzeentch Daemonkin codex, is a brand new and fully expanded Lore of Tzeentch!
Everyone else is getting their special psychic lores returned to them, it would be frankly insulting if the God of freaking magic for some reason continues to forget half his own psychic lore.

Sad Panda posted a while ago:

No new Berzerkers.

As I've said elsewhere, there are no new CSM miniatures in 2015. There are no Tzeentch/Nurgle/Slaanesh variant of Daemonkin either.

Daemonkin is a pure book-and-no-miniatures-release that was developed outside the normal miniatures planning, design and production cycle, as "add-on sale" to ET5.

If this sells well, things might change, but atm it's a one-shot-thing.

I think it is worth remembering that the Bloodthirster is an End Times mini. No more End Times beyond Archaon in 2015. No more Greater Daemons in 2015.

No Sisters in 2015 either, sorry.

And no summer campaign.

As mentioned elsewhere, this summer on the 40K-side of things is mostly about the folks from Mars (but no campaign), as well as a few 1-week-releases (think Necrons). And of course, the new Fantasy kicking off Q3.

He was 100% correct so far. A third Adeptus Mechanicus release - as rumored by Lords of War Gaming - could come in August or September. Darnok said Tau in October, that gives a lot of time for a proper AdMech Codex and more models.

I can see a nerf to the Chaos codex coming soon.

Tau, Imperial Guard, Orks will all get new shiny stuff, for sure. Probably Tzeetch, though who knows. Chaos Daemons are due a new book, but models? I dunno. I know of nobody who plays or even collects daemons anymore. Of course that could have something to do with no new models, too.

Dark Eldar will be the only 7e faction which gets 2 codex releases because their last one killed off most of the HQs. The real reason -- due to an editing error, they forgot to kill off most of the Elites!

Sisters will get a plastic models release comparable to Harlequins, and a new hardback.

And there will be plastic Thunderhawk, Reaver, and Warlord Titan kits.

Happiness and good will to all men. And women. And grots.

Chaos Daemons have such a low player base due to;
1. The entire Fantasy community still being massively butt hurt about that one summer in 2008.
2. Apparently we "broke 7th edition again" because of the Psychic phase & Summoning.

However, I doubt there's a new Daemon books on the horizon... A lot depends on how the new Fantasy system will play out, (due to Daemons being dual-system releases), and the fact that other armies in in much greater need of love than Daemons in general.

The only things model wise we're *really* crying for are the other 3 plastic Greater Daemon kits. That new 'Thirster is just so sexy - I can't wait to see how the LoC turns out!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chaos Marines left to rot until late 2016/early 2017 honestly. It's typically always been a loooooooong wait between books, despite GW playing up Chaos as the apocalyptic 'big bad' in the background.

I think if the rumors of a Genestealer Cult come true then Nids will come soon after it. Like Harlequin/Craftworlds or Skittari/Ad Mech.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

My bet is on Tau coming out next, followed by a massive Chaos Daemons/CSM release, followed by Tyranids. Don't hold me to that order, though.

I personally am dreading the new Tau codex in that we'll have plenty more calls to ban formations or Tau. I will bet that some 4chan operative will start a failed attempt to recruit a boycott/ban of Tau like one did with one of the last xenos codexes.

I feel they don't need fliers or transports, as they really don't fit with the fluff they put forward in Codex: Skitarii--and what's more, the games I've played my Skitarii in? Transports would have been a hindrance rather than a benefit.

And "joint book"? You realize that you can Ally armies now, right?

Are you kidding, those "Old Berzerkers" have become three new units, the one with the static legs have become my Legion Destroyer Squad, then I split the running legs into Blood Axes and Blood Swords. I just removed the Khorne iconography and now they are Undivided.

P.S I am using the Khorne heads as Pre Heresy T-Sons.

We are due for another campaign soon. Hard to say what will be in it. More than likely it will be one of the First Founding Chapters. They pretty much never include a brand new kit besides the special characters, so I wouldn't expect to see stuff like the Assault Squad or Devastator Squad in there. Also, the boxed sets tend not to have the flavor of the month, so no bikes. Most likely will be basically a combination of the Space Marine Battleforce (the clampack Captain, a Tactical squad, and a Dreadnought) versus something else like Eldar Guardians.
