I have been mostly fooling around with Cegorach's Revenge (because the Starweaver/Voidweaver kit makes it super easy to get 3x jesters and seers) with a really Harlequin-centric list, just allying in a bare bones DE allied detachment for one Splinterboat and one WWP.

However the options presented with the new Eldar codex and the opportunity to swap models for some more DE mean I should start thinking about what my Harlequins might be complimented by.

Has anyone had any experience playing the different Eldar styles together? I know competitively it probably makes the most sense to run bare minimum Harlequins and mostly Eldar cheese but more in the lines of things that actually compliment the Harlies than simply replace them with obviously superior Eldar alternatives.

Inb4 "run the skyweavers as windriders". My mind still boggles how they could have released those two units a couple months apart and gone "yeah this one with better AV and a better gun should probably cost half as much."

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I play DE/Harlies frequently, often with CWE thrown in. I've even written a tactical guide series for such armies, which you can find here.

The Harlies have Fear universally, and a lot of LD dependent Attacks (Phantasmancy powers, Hallucinogen Grenade Launcer, Death is Not Enough). DE, Covens in particular, have leadership negatives that can help with that. They also have better transports, access to webway portals, and cheaper expendable troops.

When I combine the harlis and craftworlders, I run a wraith host with the harlequins. They bring high strength firepower, a couple waveserpents, some heavy hitting melee, and a decent psychic toolbox. Their biggest bonus is they absorb fire like noboby's business. My glass cannons get a reprieve, or my tanks get to do damage unmolested. It makes every decision they make a bad one

They seem to synergize well with Swordwind too. Lots of diverse targets, all squishy high value targets.
