Durban-South Africa. Like schwow man!

Firstly, if this is in the wrong section, would one of the tyrannically fascist kind and caring Mods please move it?

Now onto my question.

I recently picked up an Operation: Icestorm starter (minus all the Nomads models) for a really good price. Being a n00b new starter with no established gaming scene in my slice of the country, need to get some demo's in. Fortunately I managed to get a 300pt ALEPH force last year before life decided to kick me in the gonads. Now that things have returned to relative normality, want to pick this up again.

How would you fine people suggest I go about getting two balanced and varied forces from the PanO starter force and the following ALEPH stuff?

4 x Dakini Tacbots with Combi Rifles
1 x Dakini Tacbot with HMG
2 x Garuda Tacbots with Combi Rifles
1 x Deva with Combi Rifle & Nanopulsar
1 x Naga hacker
1 x Asuras with Multi Rifle & Nanopulsar
1 x Dasyus with Multi Sniper

Any other advice would of course be welcome. Except buying more stuff !

Thanks.

I do not think Aleph is a good faction to demo with.

opinion-

Aleph has a lot of special rules that many factions do not have, and the models are deceptively powerful for their size.

also the models you have are good, but not for a demo game.

You pretty much are forced to demo hacking since most of your models are REMs, which just makes the game more complicated to demo...

the Pan-O starter has 6 models, comes in at 126pts or so and 1.5swc

to build a balanced force to demo against, you want around the same model count and as close to possible for the same cost.

The Asura is 68pts which is a little more than half the cost of 126, so honestly You should not include it.

This leaves your best Lt Option as the deva. Which you don't list any devabots as owning and do not want to buy more models so already this is not good.

I would proxy the dakini tacbot with HMG as a devabot, and do something like the following:

if you plan to not use LTs:

Aleph
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 5 0 0
DAKINI Tacbot Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (13)
DAKINI Tacbot Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (13)
DASYU MULTI Sniper Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 42)
GARUDA Tacbot Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (22)
DEVA Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 31)

2 SWC | 121 Points

Open with Army 5

if you plan to use Lt.

Aleph
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 4 0 0
ASURA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (68)
DAKINI Tacbot Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (13)
DAKINI Tacbot Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (13)
NAGA Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 32)

0.5 SWC | 126 Points

Open with Army 5

tbh for demo I like the first list better because it is close to the same model/order count as the Pan-O starter.

Also both sides have models that are around the same cost/power.

If you want to not demo hacking

Aleph
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 3 0 0
DEVA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (23)
DASYU MULTI Sniper Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 42)
ASURA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (68)

1.5 SWC | 133 Points

Open with Army 5

I like this list the least. Yeah the models are all good, but the player has an order pool of 3, versus the other players order pool of 6. It will feel lopsided in a demo.
