I've been a fan of the Ciaphas Cain novels for sometime but haven't seen any news on the next novel. Black Library has taken it off their list. Is the series dead?

The latest novel, The Greater Good, whilst ending like any other, was described as a finale to the series. I hope it isn't over, but it might be the case.

Thanks I could never find any information on it. Didn't know the Greater Good was the finale. Should have saved Cain's Last Stand for that.

Sometimes an end is better....not like the agony of poor novels Gotrek & Felix went through after Bill King got tired of writing them...they were getting darn repetitive even when King was finishing up his last one in the series.

I seem to remember reading that Mitchell had other things going on with his life and was either moving on from BL writing, or at least cutting back, but don't quote me on that.

Extremely entertaining books.

However like anything, towards the end it started to feel like Cain had done his dash.

Even so, a wonderful intro to the 40k universe, and first rate writing by any standard or genre.

I'd have liked to have seen the third book in the truncated Dark Heresy trilogy, too.
