Well, lets see how many flamers I can pack on these guys for my Salamanders

The Captain looks a bit goofy on the Helm, but will prove useful for bits if anything.

In fact, I might just use the Captain in a Battle of Macragge counts-as Severus Agemman (2nd Company Captain before Sicarius.) because he doesn't seem, well, Salamander-y. Or Raven Guard-y for that matter.

Hopefully a Tau set arrives when the codex drops. Some moar books would also be nice.
LS isn't a LSS, which would make more sense.

How would it make more sense as a LSS? There are no Scouts in the bundle.

Also, GW isn't making you buy this any more than any other kit. I like the pack, but I have no need for it. Nice for newer players though, with a sweet Captain model and some of the best SM kits out there.

Raven Guard are all about Scouts, so an extra 15 quid for Scouts in the mix with an LSS wouldn't hurt. I never said GW made me buy it, I bought it because of the savings and the sheer amount of bits in both Sternguard and Vanguard kits. If there's something eBay doesn't do for me, it's the bits.

I friggin love the Captain model. I'm going to have to get my hands on it and see where I can put it. Sadly I built my Ultramarines Captain already with the same loadout, but with Ultramarine parts, so this might end up being my 30k Praetor with some work. I think it would look great with the Suzerain Invictus. But the rest is easily put into my other armies. Honestly, this is a good box. I'm prolly one of the few that needs Land Speeders, but oh well. It works for me.

This boxed set is cool. It is actually what is bringing me back into 40k... Maybe 30k.

mixed feelings about the captain, still not sure about the wing mask. That said if your expanding a space marine force this is a good deal. between the sternguard and vanguard kits you get atleast one of every space marine weapon, ten bodies, and a lot of options. Also a landspeeder never hurt anyone but heretics and xenos

Pre-ordered mine on eBay. $118.99, so I get the Captain for free. I need more Sternguard anyway. I may end up making those Vanguard Vets into Sternguard if I can get the right parts where they are needed (I have all the Combi-Melta I need otherwise). Will just need a set of Sternguard torsos and backpacks, and some 3P tabards. Makes better use of the Vanguards than what I need.

I am not really in need of another Land Speeder, but I am sure I could sell it and make a little money back.

That Captain is going to be redesignated as my Honour Guard Chapter Champion. All he needs is a Bolt Pistol and to replace his Power Sword with a Power Maul.

Honestly, this boxed set would have made a lot more sense including a Captain, a Scout Squad, a Land Speeder Storm, and a squad of Vanguard Veterans. Oh well.

I am looking forward to getting the formations from it too, since that VV+Scouts formation is pretty awesome.
