So I am just starting a new Dark Eldar army and was wonder if there is a list out there that I might have some success with. Most people I have talked to have told me stay away from them, but I want to play them because I love their fluff, but at the same time I dont want to be losing every game I play. Im not looking for an unbeatable army list or even tournament worthy, I have my Grey Knights for that, just something fun and playable.
Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a fun army than DE is it. A fun list could be Kabalite themed, wych cult themed (like I'm doing) or haemonculus coven themed! Just see which units tickle your fancy

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Not true at all. I'll be the first to say DE have trouble on a highly competitive level but on a casual level they can be played a variety of ways and still have fun both competitively and with a variety of tactics. Heck, Wyches can even be used with a Succubus and just thrown at enemy non-combat troops and it ll be reasonably effective.

Dark Eldar have almost unquestionably the best model range GW has made, they were one of the only armies to get a complete reboot model wise and GW didn't skimp. A fully painted Dark Eldar army is a joy to see, a pain to paint and downright masochistic to put together. From a hobby perspective, Dark Eldar are an army i couldn't recommend more.

Game wise, as long as you put some thought into your lists you can make all of their units work, but not at the same time. When i take Bloodbrides and a Succubus in a Raider, i also take a Beastpack and some Webway portal Grotesques and some Incubi in a Venom to overload on threat capacity. When i take Scourges bedecked in Splinter carbines and Splinter cannons, i will take a Ravager or some Heat Lance Reavers because i know i will need some more anti-tank.

I'd gladly help you put together a sample list that would be effective and themed list if you PM'd me your fluff and model preferences.

Not sure I'd consider that a "fun" list, but perhaps that's just me.

Yeah, when i read the small novel that is the Death Guard unit options and think about resolving the attacks from a melee-oriented min size death guard squad, the thing that springs to mind is "Accessible!"

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

Building a list around Kabalite Warriors are probably the best way to go. They shoot a lot and are fairly mobile. I think the only wych cult models worth a damn are the reavers.

However, Grotesques from the Haemonculus Covens book are incredibly fun and not overpowered, just build the models out of conversions from Fantasy Cryptwarriors

I'll second what Dirty Deeds said actually. Kabalite Warriors would be a solid core to your army. Put them in Raiders and go around the board doing drive by's. Certainly not competitive, but certainly fun.

Just build your list with the mindset that only grotesques and incubi (still laughable) are the only decent combat units in the codex. Reavers are fun for crazy hammer of wrath, but risk getting mulched by survivors.
