I am currently pondering getting a new army later this year and after much debate with myself over style and what I would actually enjoy painting, I have settled on the Elysians.

Problem is I know squat about Guard tactics. I am familiar with units in general but have no clue about what are Do and Don't of Guard tactics/platoon.

Am I better off with minimum troop and stack on elites and other units or should I go with big platoons?

Tarantula sentry guns? Worth it?

Elysians vs D-99? Which one am I better off with?

My restrictions:
All-comer list

At least 1 Vulture with punisher cannons
At least 1Tauros Venator
At least 1 Heavy Bolter Team

As those are the three kits I really want to paint and have a general idea of what I want to do with them.

Can someone give me some hints or framework towards something viable or as viable as Elysians can get?
