What are the rules for what a tank vehicle can and cannot drive over? This is why I ask. We have a piece of terrain, ruins. It consists of a rectangular floor with one partial pillar in each corner. It represents a temple or something that has been destroyed or fallen down or whatever, but the pillars do each stand 2 - 3" high. My son feels that his SM tanks can drive over those pillars, even stop on the top of them. This seems ludicrous to me but other than common sense I cannot find the rule to disallow the move. Anyone can back me up on this one? Thanks, dsf

There aren't any. Any model can go anywhere

This is something that should be determined before the game begins. If it's been determined as simply Ruins then so far as moving across/through it is concerned it's Difficult Terrain.

If you wish parts of it to be Impassable Terrain then you'll have to come up with your own datasheet, whether formal or simply agreed with your opponent beforehand.

You should decide what terrain is difficult/dangerous/impassable/clear before the game starts.

It is perfectly acceptable for those categories to be different for different model types. For example razor wire could be difficult or dangerous for infantry but clear for vehicles. Tank traps could be impassable for vehicles but clear for infantry.

If it's not impassable terrain, then there's no issue with tanks going through it, although they're risking getting immobilized.

What you're forgetting is that is that in game, the ruined temple isn't a nice, static piece of terrain. The tank is smashing right through it, but unfortunately, we can't make physical terrain that interactive.

Yet.
