I've been making steady progress on my army for Adepticon 2016. I'll post here, some back-dated. I welcome y'all's comments and shared experiences.

My army list went through a few iterations, which I posted about here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/672650.page

Here's the first few iterations. More close-ups and lots of diorama work in forthcoming posts. Click image to maek bigge.

2015-12-05 This was for a GW store tournament in December. You can see many bikers aren't yet basecoated, but this is nearly all of my Ravenwing collection.

2015-12-07 when I began seriously preparing for Adepticon. I'd just gotten the Knight as-seen from a friend, and the Culexus as-seen from ~*the far east*~. They, and the Attack Bike, are the only models I didn't paint myself. I did add magnets to the Knight's three pieces.

2016-01-18 You can see a pewter Ezekiel from eBay in the background, waiting to replace the Librarian I painted as a teenager. The Dark Angels Librarius Conclave is not a popular formation, but I'm trying to stay true to the First Legion. I've played Dark Angels exclusively since 1996, until the Adeptus Mechanicus release last year. (My next army will be a War Convocation, though it may have to wait until next fall.)

2016-01-31 TableWar's magnetic diorama products really appealed to me, so here's just after I received the first shipment. I combined the plastic and metal bits with super glue. I considered epoxy but I think CA glue is fine enough. I'll post many more pictures from the display board soon, or see them here: http://imgur.com/a/Z7rja

2016-02-15 Three of four diorama boards are done, and Ezekiel is probably my best work yet. I think the AdMech gravbots are beating the second-hand Knight for their spot in my list.

Thanks for viewing! Many more pics soon!

I'll start with the older models.

Made these objective markers from 40mm bases, Vallejo Black Lava texture paint, Eshin Gray drybrush, Nuln Oil wash. Today I'd use a lighter grey drybrush of course.

2014-09-08 First three bikers from the Dark Vengeance set.

2014-10-04 Old pewter Chaplain from eBay, mashed up with Black Knight kit. Still my Warlord! Base is some cheap knock-off dental plaster I should replace.

2015-01-27 Took a long time to finish the Command Squad in great detail. Big lance is from Grey Knight kits. The Attack Bike was very cheap on eBay, and I painted the Land Speeder when I was very young.

That's the history, newer miniatures soon!

Thats all really cool dude.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of the Bike Squads but you're really pulled it off nicely.

What are you gonna do with the bases?

Only one week to go!

This Ezekiel is prolly my best work

First time I've tried edge highlighting and it really helps the edges pop from a distance.

2016-03-14

Since this picture I've done a lot more base painting of the remaining black knights. I've also changed my army list dropping the assassin and some bikes and adding more black knights and another attack bike.

Here's a closeup of one of the gravbots. Green Glaze made a great glowing effect on the cannon AND on his rotten skin.
