This was something brought up in another thread but not really expanded on.

When a vehicle rams another, the attacking vehicle makes a hit on the appropriate side with a strength of half its front armor. Then the attacking vehicle suffers an attack with a strength of half the defending vehicle's appropriate armor. Then we have the reinforced ram, and the relevant rule is "a vehicle with a reinforced ram... treats its front Armor Value as two higher than normal when Ramming." Obviously this applies to the ram attack itself, meaning it gets a +1 to its strength, but does the vehicle keep the +2 armor on the return hit? Would this give a Battlewagon a 16 front armor for the defending hit, or is there specifically a rule saying armor cannot go above 14?

My interpretation is that "when Ramming," and ramming is basically a sub-phase during the movement phase, which includes the return hit, so yes, the vehicle would get the +2 defending armor. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Very interesting thought, I never considered it for the returning hit.

Certainly something I'd not thought of. I don't know that if describe it as a kind of sub-phase but I think from what you've stated the returning hit occurs "when ramming" for the bonus to apply.

It really only came up because I often ram things when my vehicles have nothing better to do. Honestly, it's probably better than the orky BS of 2. It really only matters for the trukk, though, as a front armor of 12 would make most side armors unable to glance it.
