I am preparing to sculpt a platoon commander for my Sister's of Steel. Before I decide on armament, I need some feedback.
Okay, in the main rule book, page 42 under pistols it explains the gunslinger rule stating "All models with two pistols can fire both in the shooting phase". As I understand it, this means pistols are no longer twin linked.
The Imperial Guard command and platoon command entries state (page 94: Astra Militarum codex) "The Platoon Commander may take items (plural) from the melee weapons, ranged weapons, etc etc
So, I believe I am legal to buy two bolt pistols for my commander, since he can take multiple items from any list, and he fires both in shooting (not as twin linked which was an earlier edition, but with two shots) and since a pistol counts as a CCW he now has the +1 attack in CC? There is some dissension among my group. Anyone got a rule cite barring this?

I don't think this is some uber thing (although two plasma pistol shots could be nice) I just like the idea.

I am sorry if this has been asked before, I searched the threads, but only found a thread about ravenwing and bikers...
Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the ranged weapons list in the Astra Militarum Wargear List.

A model can replace his laspistol with one of the following:

Does the model have two laspistols to replace?

You can, however, buy the Wrath of Cadia Relic as a 2nd pistol for your Lord Commissar or Company Commander if you're running a Cadian Detachment.
