I was wondering if anyone had any experience converting Squats. Basically I'm looking to create something similar to this, except instead of kitbashing Scouts and Dwarf Ironbreakers, I'd be kitbashing Tactical Marines with the Ironbreakers. Thoughts? Ideas?

Mantic is doing a bang-up job of bringing squats back to life with the forgefathers line. You'd just need 40K rule conversions.

It never ends well

Ended up doing the Tactical Marine/Ironbreakers kitbash. They turned out nice. I haven't made a proper video yet but if anyone's interested here's a close-up of the results

They look pretty good man.

Personally I think the Scout arms scale better, the Tac arms look only a little longer than they should, but that's me looking at them with a critical eye. It's not something I'd expect anyone to really notice from a tabletop viewpoint.

I see you experimented one with a SM powerpack. I think it works quite well, particularly to help distinguish them from AoS by bringing in that extra sci-fi element.

Good job

I agree that the scout arms look a bit better, but honestly, they are all a bit knuckle dragging to me.

Really though if you want to make heavily armored squats, sticking bolters in the hands of forgefathers is a cheaper and slightly better (only slightly) proportioned way to go.

I'm building my own Squat forces mostly around the vintage figs, but if I weren't, I'd be using the new Polystyrene Forge fathers. I am using the Forgefather Forge Guard (aka exo armor) and Iron Ancestor (Dreadnaught) figs however.

You're Welcome. The Forgefathers were recently re-released with a new multipart poseable sprue (the old was just a modified Mantic fantasy dwarf sprue) but it doesn't seem to be for sale at mantic right now. Make sure you get the right one if you buy/find some.

These are the guys you want.

Wow thanks for the share Eilif! I also like the clan-rats in space, it's like Master Splinter's cousins gone evil ;D I think this is opening a new chapter for me in 40k whereby i basically convert the hell out of everything in the most fun ways possible i can see it now: dwarves with boltguns aided by goblins/gretching fixing their tanks (just like with the orks) and clan rats counting as cultists or gardsmen Could also go well with adeptus mechanicus

I thought of adding a vindicare assassin represented by an eldar sniper (represented by a converted Illic Nightspear), but then i thought about what a dwarf would say; "we don't need no stinkin elves!" hah

The eldar idea isn't as odd an idea as you might think. I've seen a couple different assassin's made from Eldar, though I think it was guardian figs. I also recall someone using them as the basis for a bodysuited Van Saar necromunda gang.

Your "new Chapter" sounds like a good place to be. Life is too short to limit yourself to one company's miniatures.
