Subject: Question about two-handed weapons versus very tough opponents.

So, as I read this, two-handed weapons improve the attackers to-wound dice roll by 1. If you need say, 6/4 to wound a model significantly higher defense than your strength, does the two-handed rule effect BOTH dice rules assuming you hit the initial 6 (made a 5, essentially by the improvement).
In essence, does two-handed turn your 6/4 roll, into a 5/3?

By 6/4 you mean you need to roll a 6 followed by a 4+ in order to wound?
That is also known as a 7+ so with the bonus you would only need to roll a 6.

See, I would've thought that too, but it doesn't account for the to-wound chart having say, two 5+ results before you then need a 6+, etc...
And the wording clearly talks about improving your dice roll, not lowered your "to wound" target.

Yeah, anything that improved the D6 roll works on both. 2-handers, Lances, Might Points, it's a +1 on both 'halves' of the roll.

I kind of thought so. Thanks guys. I am so used to the eternal rules as written, versus intended, debates, that it didn't occur to me that the simplest reading would be the correct one. :-p
Man... GW really should've found a way to use these as a basis for the AoS rules. I'd be in love with that game right now if it were the case. :-p
