Anyone else experiencing this with Army Painter primers?

This is the second time that about halfway through the can, it suddenly started sputtering and spraying even without depressing the can topper. It clogs eventually and stops, but even if I remove the top as its going it continues to sputter.

I do clean the primer can after use (upside down spray) and shake plenty, so what gives? No real way to get these refunded, but they dont come cheap enough to worry about this every time.

I also posted this to my local gaming group and 2 other cans apparently did the same thing. We all buy from the same place and they were both Black primers, so maybe its a bad batch. : /

I have not, have brown and white primer and both work great 4+ months after purchase.

Sucks that your having problems, would drive me nuts.

Give Army Painter a call or an email. I had a situation where an old can of primer from Battlefront started seeping out of the bottom ring of the can. I emailed Battlefront, sent them a pic of it, and they sent me a new can. Its worth a shot.

I have this issue EVERY time with army painter cans. Exactly how you describe, all fine until about half full and then the sputtering and clogging starts. In the past I've purchased bags of spare caps to use and that gets a bit more use out of the cans but its not long until the clogging and sputtering occurs again.

But...friends of mine who also use the cans never have this issue so that got us wondering why does it only happen to me?...and I've found it its due to shaking the can too hard! Im a heavy can shaker, even to the point the ball bearing inside dents the base of the can (looks like a steel drum) so on my latest can Ive been shaking it really gently and its lasted way longer.

I've not had this issue - but I only shake the can for 30 seconds or so. I find their primers generally great (apart from Daemonic Yellow, which doesn't work as a primer).
