I have I haven't played since the 2nd edition 40k so my codex orks is waaaaay out of date. Just wanted to know if some of my old miniatures would still be usable. Lost quite a few models like most of my Ork boyz, gretchen, mekaniak and painboy
I have left

1x Splatta Kannon
1x pulsa rokkit
old Ghazghkull (not in a full mek suit thing)
zodgrod wartsnagga
5 bloodaxe Kommandos
1 looted rhino

Few colours favour me, for the blood and ichor of my fallen enemies has many shades. No colour but the one, that i depend on, that of Ultramarine.

Splatta Kannon -> No rules for him. But you could use it as one of the other mek guns. There are quite a few mek guns thee days and their rules er actually not bad.

pulsa rokkit -> Does no longer have rules.
The most recentt rules are here ( they are for appoc and no lnnger in use)
https://waaaghpower.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/pulsarokkit00.jpg
You could use it as a Grot bomb launcha -> Imperial Armour 8 has rules for them.

Ghazghkull -> Still usable as Ghaz or a generic wharboss

zodgrod wartsnagga -> No rules for him but you could use him a a generic runtherd.

5 bloodaxe Kommandos -> Kommando's still excist and there is a snikrot f0rmtion that you might take a look at.

Looted rhino -> is no longer in the codex but there are rules for generic looted wagons https://i.warosu.org/data/tg/img/0397/46/1430753671396.jpg

If it is an original splatta kannon model it looks most like the standard kannon..boxes of boys are inexpensive and contain the parts to build other stuff ..(Like tankbustas) ..Looted Rhino = Looted wagon ..minor weapon/rules changes very minor..so you have a decent setup for ork army (I tend to use my olde 3 for 25 dollar rhinos as trukks) some of my other looted stuff became other things ..like gunwagons and battle wagons

The old Ghaz is really far too small to actually use him for Ghaz these days, particularly since he doesn't have Mega Armour.

Far smaller than a current warboss, for that matter. If you're using him in an all-second-edition-era-model army, you would get away with using him as a warboss, but if you're looking to update and bulk out the army with current models, you would be better off turning him into a nob for a mob of old Boyz.

Yeah he is a lot smaller and kinda confusing. But he still is the same model and I would just love seeing one of those nice oop models especially in the presence of more of them

I recently bought some Ork Nobz and they stand much taller than ghazghkull, doesn't really sit well with the lore of him being a large ork lol.
Prob run as a generic warlord if I wanted to save points.
but his companion standard bearer has incredible luck nothing but a 1 on a D6 can kill him if I remember, would be cool to play as old Ghaz if the other player was willing

Also I'm thinking of buying a trukk or battlewagon and any spare cosmetic bits will prob go on the rhino to ork it up a bit. I'll post pictures later

You might want to look up "da lucky stick" in the codex. it will make your warboss lucky again

I'm pretty sure he had mega armour in the 2nd ed rules (even though the model didn't look it)... but
back then the ork special characters could select from the armour lists too, so perhaps you were meant to 'upgrade' him to flakk/eavy?

Eitherway, the rules were always mega armour by default so I would have no problem with using the Ghaz model for Ghaz rules, even if he is modelled in a jacket with a sword!

It's less that his mega armour doesn't look like mega armour as that the model is smaller than a current Boy.

If you're just using him in an army comprised of RT or 2nd ed models, that might be passable... But in a force with modern models would be more than a little odd.

To be clear, I wouldn't tell someone they couldn't use it. But it's probably a better idea to upgrade to the current model in this case.
