Hi all! First post in a long time. If I have any formatting issues, please let me know!

I'm expanding from 1500 to 1850, and I'm torn about what to add next. I'm not a terribly competitive player, so I'm using models that I think look sweet above all else, but I still want to not just roll over every game. I feel like my current list could be improved against hordes of squishies, heavy armor (13+), and could use more mobility. I think I've narrowed it down to two units, but if you have any more sweet suggestions, I'm all for it!

My choices for upgrading are:

Ironstrider Cavalier's Formation
-2 Sydonian Dragoons, 2 Lances, 1 Phosphor Serpenta
-2 Sydonian Dragoons, 2 Lances, 1 Phosphor Serpenta
-2 Ironstrider Ballistarius, 2 TL Cognis Lascannon
350 Even

-OR-

Raptor Wing
-2 Land Speeder (2x Multi Melta on both)
-Stormtalon Gunship (Stock - TL AssCannon, TL Heavy Bolter)
-Stormtalon Gunship (Stock)
360 (losing Combi-Flamer on Librarian)

Here's my Current List:

CAD - Imperial Fists
-Lvl 2 Librarian on Bike, Force Axe, Melta Bombs, Fulmination
-5x Scouts (Bolters, Vet Sgt w/ Melta Bombs)
--Land Speeder Storm (Hvy Flamer)
-5x Scouts (Bolters, Vet Sgt w/ Melta Bombs)
--Land Speeder Storm (Hvy Flamer)

Formation - Holy Requisitioner (Ad Mech)
-Tech Priest Dominus (Stock)
-3 Kataphron Breacher (2x Heavy Arc Rifle, 1 Torsion Cannon, 3x Arc Claw)
-3 Kataphron Breacher (2x Heavy Arc Rifle, 1 Torsion Cannon, 3x Arc Claw)

Formation - Cohort Cybernetica
-Tech Priest Dominus (Autocadeceus of Arkhan Land, Worlord)
-4x Kastelan Robots (3x TL Hvy Phosphor Blaster/Heavy Phosphor Blaster, 1x Incendine Combuster/Pair of Power Fists)
-2x Cybernetica Datasmith

Total: 1500

Wow this is interesting. A lot of ideas here that we don't often see!

I've just painted three colors on my own Cohort Cybernetica. That unit puts out such a disgusting amount of shooting in all directions! Its 800 points really dominates your roster so you must really plan the rest to fill in its gaps: mobility and contesting objectives. Your Scouts fit those roles perfectly!

The Cohort is very vulnerable to deathstars and they're only becoming more prevalent, so consider a Culexus Assasin. Even on foot, he can protect the Cohort and deny the center of the board. But he'll need an Imperial Fists Rhino taxi to survive through the crucial second turn assault.

The units in the Holy Requisitioner formation are not that great, so this may be the least competitive part of your army. Replace it after you finish this army. But you probably already have the finished Breacher models and they do doggedly contest objectives. They're just vulnerable to being stuck in combat with an Objective Secured Tactical Squad for several turns while they score points on top of the objective. So make sure your Cohort Cybernetica targets ObSec units first! Put the giant killer robots in the center of the board where they can see most of the objectives.

The Raptor Wing's role overlaps almost completely with Cohort Cybernatica, trading only a little firepower for mobility, so I don't think it compliments what you have already.

The Ironstrider formation (the next one I'm building too!) does compliment with fast-moving and hard-hitting assault. Being forced to start in Reserves is a hangup, but the rest of your army probably has enough staying power (lol T7 2+ FNP IWND). If you need more points, that formation doesn't really need the serpentas or the second Ballistarius.

I'm worried about your bike Librarian. Maybe he can ride with your scouts or maybe build a bike command squad with storm shields for him? Or even build a devastator or tactical squad for him so he can hang out in the back and buff the Cohort Cybernetica. Maybe in a bunker or Aegis with a comms relay! You've already shown a lot of innovation so I'm sure you'll come up with something new!

Thanks for the input! I, too, am leaning towards the ironstriders.

I wanted the librarian because the Fulmination psychic power is too sweet to pass up: especially the two movement powers. Being able to give my Breachers or Robots that much mobility I felt was invaluable. And giving my librarian a Bike seemed like the best way to give him some extra mobility.

Giving him a bike command squad (or all jet packs) could also be fun.

I've even considered dropping him completely and taking the 3 scout/3 land speeder formation with these extra points.

Edit: after reading some tournament formats, it seems like the cap is generally 3 detachments... So I guess I'd like to stick within that guideline, just to make sure I can play in a tournament, should the need arise.
