Yeah I know EC melee units got cool buffs from HH:6 but it has been kakophonies that I always wanna play with. Luckily they also got a nice weapon as well as awesome ROW this year. FYI a kakophoni now shoots Heavy 2 S6 AP5 Gets Hot Pinning Bio-Psychic Shock wave as a relentless troop.

So I finally started organizing EC 3rd company as mechanized infantry. I've been gathering lots of kakophonies and rhinos for this purpose. At least 3x10 kakophonies with rhino will be fielded as troops. I also have a model of Pulgrim as a gift from my dear neckbeard friends.

However, I'm a 30k newbie and have no idea of what other things I should prepare for this army. I have a large Slaanesh daemon army but I heard they cannot be allied with EC in 30k era. I may need some tools to deal with AV13 or higher, and some bodyguards when I invite our Primarch?

Any suggestions will be appreciated, veterans.

Kakophoni is already plural, but "kako phonies" sounds hilarious, so I'll allow it.

Fulgrim can benefit a gunline with either Conqueror of Cities (stealth and move through cover in ruins) or Master of Ambush (3 units can infiltrate).

He himself throws the list in a very melee-oriented direction, so you will want for him a melee bodyguard of some kind (lots of choices, command squads, phoenix terminators, palatine blades, furious charge veterans), and a Primus Medicae because he's relatively squishy for a Primarch, especially to ranged attacks.

Forge Lords with rad grenades, Librarians with Biomancy, and Heralds with Traitor banner can all be big force multipliers for your melee elements, which all thrive on being able to charge, win, and sweep an assault, as prolonged engagements are not good for phoenix spears.
