So I'm bored at work, and wanted to run this by people on here; love the seeker chariots, and I know bare bones a unit will come in just above 100 points. It hits like a freight train with rending everywhere (granted only S4 HoW), and can chew up tanks and light infantry with ease, getting D6 HoW attacks for each HP in the unit. Such a low cost, the biggest worry is being an open topped chariot. But paired with another unit to charge first and pull in the Overwatch shots, this unit can take down a lot. No, it'll never deal with Knights. But it can handle almost any transport less than a land raider (13 will require glancing), and again it's cheap for the amount of HoW and 15 attacks following it. I have the Wulfen book too, but not on hand currently, so I'm not sure how that formation is boosted. Anyone playing with these and are they worth boosting with a lash greater gift, running bare bones...
Not looking at the hellflayer-not being able to be part of a unit is a bit of a failing point on such a flimsy contraption.

I also don't own a full unit of 3; otherwise I'd have just tried before asking opinions.

The real problem with the Calvalcade is that the Herald/Aluress riding the chariot is so weak. With the option to simply kill 1 T3/5++ character to remove the whole chariot, they tend to get wiped out pretty quickly.

The new grenade rules help quite a bit in keeping the vehicle alive, but it only takes 5 S4 attacks to kill the herald.

I know they're pretty flimsy, they're definitely a unit you don't just send at anything. If you're unable to pick targets, they're screwed. But it's really cheap for a big punch, and if that unit is getting shot at, it means my other units aren't. And when you have them, Kairos, a 'Thirster, a screamerstar, a Skullcannon, Be'Lakor, horrors that are summoning, fiends running around...target saturation of dangerous items is a good thing.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The Grand Cavalcade formation requires a Herald of Slaanesh and 6 units of Seekers of Slaanesh, Hellflayers or Seeker Cavalcades, and get to move an additional 6" when running or going Flat Out and all Chariots get to make d6 additional S4 HoW hits. The Herald also gets to broadcast her locus to all units in the formation within 12".

If I were going to use it, I'd probably go the Herald on a Steed leading a big unit of Seekers with the Exalted Locus (re-roll all hits in combat mainly), then 5 units of 1 Seeker Chariot or 5 Hellflayers (though I'm not sure Hellflayers are worth the extra 20pts over Seeker Chariots). Given how flimsy the Chariots are, I'd not be worried about single model units - at least you'll only lose 1 model at a time, rather than Scatter Lasers ripping through a 3 model unit.

That comes out to roughly 650-700 points depending on how you upgrade the Herald and Seekers. Fill out the rest with the some hard hitting units for the bigger stuff (your Greater Demons, Knights etc) and some Pink Horrors for Warp Charge and you could have a pretty decent list.

The formation also does an additional d6 HoW hits for the chariots

Yes of course, somehow I forgot the best benefit of the formation lol.
