Hi
Looking for a solid TAC list for a tournament. Not sure what will show but am expecting one list will be 4 knights.
I am rather new to 40k only had a few games.
Demi company (610 points)
Assault squad+drop pod
Captain
Dreadnought
3XTactical squads+meltagun+rhino
devastator squad+4 multimelta+drop pod
Demi company (510 points)
Assault squad+rhino
Chaplain
3XTactical squads+meltagun+rhino
devastator squad+4 multimelta+drop pod
Auxilary Suppresion force (175 points)
2 whirlwinds + land speeder
Command (195 points)
Librarius conclave
Idea is use ultramarines devastator protocal thingy on first turn to get the drop podded devastators shooting at full BS into any armor/knights.
Dreadnough is for countercharging things.
Tacticals drive around shooting or getting objectives.
Librarians do what they can, maybe give prescience to devastators for that first turn shooting?
The conclave, captain and chaplain will hang out in rhinos.
Does it loook ok?

Devastator doctrine wouldn't make you hit on 3s when you land, as you count as having moved, thus will snapshot multi meltas.

If you want to pod MM devs, look into getting your captain capheract terminator armor (From the BaC box/AoD supplement) He’d be slow and purposeful, which effects the unit.
If you are going with free transports for 5 man squads, go razors, rather then rhinos.
I honestly think you are trying to cram too much into this point level. You have next to no firepower. Now you do have a ton of ObSec units, so should do OK in objective games. But all of your games are going to be holding points and hoping not to die.
Things I’d reccomend:
Swap all rhinos for razors
Drop the dread. He’s optional, you need the points.
Get combis for your sarges. A single melta requires far too much luck to get results. 2 is a bit better. 3-4 is optimal.
Other points can be spent on upgrades. Flamers for the AMs, real guns for your speeder, captain upgrades. MLs for the Libs.

gosh yes the devastator doctrine does not work if disembark from transport. yikes. I need a new strat.
Whats the best way to tackle knights then?
The cataphract captain sounds good but I cant find it in battlescribe, what is BaC/AoD? That would only affect one lot of devs tho?

Quick check: What codex are you using? If you think the Dev doctrine gives you relentless, you might be one behind. Or just remembering old rules. But you are using formations, which weren’t in the last one. Should be a sarge with a BP/chainsword on the cover. My general strategy for imperial knights is "multiple threats, multiple angles”. They can only point their ion shield in one direction, so you want to hit them from multiple sides. Their armor value isn’t the best, so it’s not like you need to drown them in melta. Although that works. But something like a 4xLC dev squad or predator shooting from the front, a podded MM/M, c-melta tac squad on the side/rear, and maybe a pair of TML/HB speeders scooted up for a flank shot. Serves me well in my more casual meta. But the most I’ve seen on the table at a time is one, so vs. spam you might need something more. And because I forgot to say it last post: Welcome to Dakka and the Ultramarines. Edit: Betrayal at Calth is the 30k box set/game that GW released last November. Angels of Death is a supplement just released a few weeks ago with rules to use some of the 30k stuff from that box (capheractii terminators + CTDA captain, contemptor dreads) in games of 40k. I’m not sure if the rules have made their way to battlescribe yet. You might want to update your files and check. And yes, the captain only affects the squad he’s with.

Thanks for the welcome!
Would putting all squad into lascannon razorbacks work?
Ten twin linked lascannons could lay some hurt down? I could shoot from different angles then. I just know one Tau guy got stomped pretty bad last time vs the 4 knights, he seemed a bit down about it.
Anyway that comes to 1450, including suppression and librarius, losing the dread - but with squads being stock standard no upgrades.
I feel I need supresion force as there are some horde armies, not sure about the librarius and how to use is it good?
Oh I have access to both codex( new one is only pdf tho kinda limited) but I saw in old codex you describe with captain pointing - devastator doctrine not work from transports.
