So with the first draft of our new FAQ out I decided to dust off my angels. One question I personally asked about the Angel's Wrath Intervention Force was answered and it recieved a slight buff which makes it reliably able to put a str4 hit for each model on every unit it lands next to. This list isn't meant to be hard core tournament worthy, but I'd like to take it to a few tournaments in my area and hopefully bring home a few wins.

Baal Strike Force Detachment

LoW
-Lord Commander Dante
Warlord

HQ
-Sanguinary Priest
Angel's Wings
Auspex

Elites
-5x Death Company

Troops
-Cassor the Damned

-5x Scouts
Combi melta
Close combat weapons

Fast Attack
-5x Bikers
2x grav guns
Combi grav

-Drop Pod

Angel's Wrath Intervention Force Formation
-5x Vanguard Veterans
5 storm shields
Melta bomb

-10x Assault Marines
2 melta guns
Vet sgt with power sword

-10x Assault Marines
2 melta guns
Vet sgt with power sword

So Dante and the priest go with the vanguard vets, while the assault squads combat squad. The whole formation comes in on a 3+ rerollable reserve roll, with the vanguard vets only scattering 1d6 with a reroll and the marines precision dropping within 6in. The whole formation is super accurate, and can cover a big area of the table in difficult terrain for a turn.

Someday I'm gonna run Dante with archangel sanguine wing.

I suggest trying him here first. He acts as an interesting force multiplier when paired with formations. The one thing I'm sketchy about is on the dangerous terrain rules for jetbikes and enemy jump infantry. Usually they have to take a terrain test if they start and/or end their move in dangerous terrain. I think that means that any jetbike that gets hit by the meteoric impact special rule is going to have to take 2 consecutive dangerous terrain tests when they move, one for taking off and one for landing.

So this is a bump and also a report on how well the list did in a couple games. The first was against a white scars demi company that went as follows.

Khan
Captain with some combat gear, hunters eye, bike

Grav command squad on bikes with an apothecary

3x5 tac marines with various weapons in asscan razorbacks
Missile devs with an asscan razorback

5x grav bikes

White scar land speeder+scout formation

Eversor assassin

Standard maelstrom game. Ended up winning by 1 on primary, with line breaker and slay the warlord to his first blood. The white scar ability to make assault phase moves is brutal, but the effectiveness of the grav command squad was hampered by my MSU strategy.

Second game was against an ork list with the following.

Zardsnark
Biker boss with klaw, lucky stikk
Painboy on bike

10x bikers, klaw nob
3x5 bikers, klaw nob in each

2x10 stormboyz, klaw nob in each

2x8 tankbustas in trukks

Killpoints, won that one too. Managed to kill 5 stormboyz, 4 tankbustas and 4 bikes on the drop with my formation.

Some thoughts. The formation itself is ok without support, but with Dante is actually really powerful. Sure, even after demeching the white scars player on turn one, meteoric impact only killed like 5 marines, but getting that for free is great. It also puts out a not insignificant amount of shooting.

Cassor died without doing anything vs orks, but ended up drawing a bunch of fire vs white scars (which he lived through with 1hp) before going on to take out a grav bike squad and a land speeder. Basically he's an MVP because of the amount of firepower he draws as an immediate threat. If he lives, then he'll kill whatever he touches.

The one change I might make is swapping some points around for akimbo inferno pistols on my assault sergeants, basically trading combat power for more melta. Thoughts?
