So gw has one now, but would it be more worthwhile to get fw version since you can get legion iconography with more weapons and the ability to pose it, but its more expensive. which one is more worthwhile? or should i buy the gw and buy fw weapons? i was concidering if i got any from fw i would gow duel power fist with inbuilt flamers and duel butcher cannons on two emperors children ones.

I prefer the ability to position the FW model more, and the "less static look" than the Betrayal at Calth Contemptor from GW, but there is nothing wrong with the GW contemptor.

I'd always get the FW one if I were buying it alone - more options, and you can really create diversity if you're getting multiple Contemptors.

If you like poses and options, go with Forgeworld. I also can't justify spending $60 on such a simple model kit. I was happy to have one in BaC but the fact that the 3rd edition plastic Dreadnought kit has more options and posability for cheaper is pretty damning.

I think the ability to pose and weapon option outweigh the overall cost so ill probably get fw ones once i save up for them

While the Betrayal at Calth box is generally quite fantastic...the Contemptor is easily the biggest failure of that box.

It's a poor, fairly under-detailed sculpt with zero pose options.

Couple this with the fact that it's one simple sprue...which should be $24.95 at the very most, I can't, in any way, suggest you purchase the GW one. The $60 is laughable. Even with discount around $45 it's a criminal price to pay for such a mediocre kit.

If you got the money, always FW.

You get more than just 2 arm weapons and the detail is absolutely phenomenal. Not to mention with the current low British Pound, the price difference might not actually be that big.

EDIT: Did the math. A Contemptor with 2 arms from FW is just over 67 USD. The plastic one is no competition.

Get the contemptor body from forgeworld for maximum poseability, get the BaC contemptor arms off eBay bits sites for anything that's just gonna melee or melta things.
