I've spent an hour doing google-fu to find a solution and am coming up blank. What can I use to represent dirge casters? I don't want to use the demon-face looking thing that comes with the chaos kits (nor do I want to use Noise Marine pipes in it's place). I want something normal looking for my Alpha Legion project. Only loudspeaker model I can find is a (too) large humve model with a real modern looking speaker system. One alternative I came across was to use model railway spot lights as they look like megaphones but they often have working lights and are pretty expensive. Any idea's out there to cheaply scratch-build or re-purpose something?

If t helps I'm going for a strong WWi/II armoured look for the vehicles but I'm ignorant of what's available to work with from the historical model tank ranges.

I've seen people use those gargoyle heads thingys on Chaos Vehicle sprues for Blastmasters and Sonic Blasters, maybe you can do something similar for dirge casters? Like maybe them coming out from the sides with wires into them so it looks like a side speaker in the shape of a monster head?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

The 3rd ed codex made one out of a conical gaming token with fine gauge mesh over the bottom. Looked pretty effective as a speaker.

Not a fan of using the gargoyle heads for that. I've actually used 6 of them on my land raider as hydra heads (it's an Alpha Legion LR) but that's about as "chaosy" as I'm getting with the tank I think.

I'll look into cone counters, if I can find any that is!
