Trying something new to break away from the strictly mech lists I've been running for a while. This is for casual gaming, trying to be flexible. I'm in two minds as to whether I should run an extra squad of melta vets as same as the other two and drop the Assassin. Putting the LRBT in with the HQ would free up the Wyverns to be taken as three separate batteries for further flexibility too.I've also got another LRBT, a Basilisk, two Vanquishers, a squad of Bullgryns, Valkyrie, and an as of yet unbuilt Baneblade at my disposal. Totals in at 1,490pts. Welcoming all advice, how to spend that last 10pts would be handy too... Extra Armour on Pask for the sake of it?
CAD - Astra Militarum (1,025pts)
HQ
Knight Commander Pask, Leman Russ Punisher, Heavy Bolter Sponsons - 230pts
Leman Russ Exterminator, Heavy Bolter Sponsons - 150pts
Troops
Veteran Squad, 2x Meltagun, Chimera, Dozer Blade - 150pts
Veteran Squad, 2x Meltagun, Chimera, Dozer Blade - 150pts
Heavy Support
Wyvern Battery: 3x Wyvern - 195pts
Leman Russ Battle Tank - 150pts
Allied Detachment - Militarum Tempestus (325pts)
HQ
Company Command Squad, 4x Plasma Gun - 145pts
Troops
Tempestus Scions (5), 2x Meltagun - 90pts
Tempestus Scions (5), 2x Meltagun - 90pts
Officio Assassinorium Detachment (140pt)
Culexus Assassin - 140pts

Seems good to me, if not a little too "short ranged." Paskisher is always fun and wyverns are by far the best buy in the whole book, although I would definitely split them up into at least 2 squadrons, so you don't have to fire at the same target. Its a shame the Chimera got nerfed, vets just aren't quite as good as they used to be. I don't know that in this particular list the assassin will pay off, I guess it depends on your meta -- but, I guess if people abuse invis, etc., it might help out. I might consider dropping her for an Aegis Defense Line to hide your wyverns behind... maybe throw some cammo netting on there.

Thanks for the feedback. Up until now I've ran three squads of melta vets in Chimeras, but they're just not as good as they need to be. Two is enough to work with objectives with the MT deep striking in back field. The reason for taking the Assassin is due to the local meta of psykers vs my lack of any. At one point I put a Primaris Psyker with each vet squad, but it just wasn't worth the points in the end. Depending on what I'm up against, the Culexus can easily be swapped out for another Russ. I know I'm playing against DA on Sunday, so psychic nulling is needed.
The Aegis Defense Line is something that I'm looking into getting soon. I've been dropping them behind buildings and going ahead without the LOS benefit. 12 blasts make up for the loss of accuracy I think.

The ADL + cammo netting will give them a straight up 3+ cover save against all shooting... unless some combi-melta sternguard drop pod in behind them, etc., but that's what bubble wrap is for. I think (even though they're kinda cheesy at this point) Void Shield Generators are worth looking into for any and all shooty/armor guard lists. You should check out the psykana division formation in the Mont'Ka book, it's pretty powerful... harnessing on 2+... increased mastery levels for the primaris.. fun stuff. Power gamers have been using them to summon tons of daemons (heresy!) on 2+ ... if you perils? who cares, the commissar just smokes one of the wyrdvane psykers (you have 5-10 of them, so no big deal).

I've noticed that cropping up in various tournament lists throughout the forums. I do have the Mont'Ka book, and it's not going to break the bank to pick up two more squads of Wyrdvanes. Out of curiosity, what Daemons would best compliment this kind of AM force? I definitely have a soft spot for anything Nurgle.

From the batreps i've seen, mostly Slaneeshi ones -- i think it's mainly because of the "fleet" -- they can get summoned and then run out of the "come the apocalypse" bubble -- if you could get around that, i think anything goes.. AM isn't good at CC, so bloodletters or plaguebarers would defintely work.

I think it's all the Horus Heresy books I've been reading recently, but the Nurgle stuff appeals to me more than anything. There's a painting comp at the local GW for complete 'Start Collecting' boxes, so there's my excuse. I had a brief look through the Daemon codex today, so I have some idea of where to start.
Would the Herald of Nurgle or Plague Drones be of any use? I haven't had the time to look up what I can actually do with summoning...
