Don't fret gentlemen, Malifaux is the new sauce! Free rules, and a wiki that helps people get started with malifaux are online.

All the reliable rumours say that the timeline is advancing a bit but its not going all the way like WHFB End Times did. Don't trust stuff you read on BoLS.

Breaking down the clusterfeth of the current rules would be a good thing imo. Make it a bit more complex and in depth than AoS, but keep the same freedom of "take whatever you want, because no unit is broken/unplayable".

I don't know how I feel about this, but I do know it would be sweet to get different units from different armies, use their datasheets and put them wherever I want.

If 40k IS getting AoS'd it will likely achieve the two things that need to happen to save 40k.

1) Fix rules issues (by removing them). Rules arguments will cease, as the people who continue to play in Age of Emprah will be hardcore casuals.

2) Kill the playerbase. With such an overhaul, the tactical/competitive playerbase will disintegrate, and balanced fanon rules may become a thing.

As long as it doesn't replace the existing codecies (like AoS replaced all Fantasy Army books) and keeps points values, I'll be happy. I used to play Fantasy, but AoS made me quite because all my literature became obsolete overnight.

Doing this to 40K would be devastating and wipe out almost a decade of hobby work for me. Changing the core rules to be simpler would be fantastic, as long as they are smart enough to make those rules fit with the existing codices.

OP isn't trolling at all....oh no.

Come of it. Reports that 40k is being sigmarified are exaggeration at best. All that BoLs article speaks about is an Eldar prophecy of the end times. Each major faction has been predicting the end times of some variety since at least second edition.

40k will likely have some kind of shift forward in the story, but I honestly don't expect the setting to change significantly. They aren't going to kill the goose that is laying the golden eggs.

I could not help but laugh and spill some of my coffee at point one.

Rule arguments not happening??? There is a reason that sigmar is called warhammer age of house rules.

Majority of rule debates in 40k are, "wait....does x apply to y?" "I'm not sure anyon know? Screw or just roll for it, odds it does even it does not."

To many unpainted models to count.

This. BOLS occasionally gets something right by blind luck, but 95% of their "content" is just clickbait garbage. They'll turn every single rumor post elsewhere, no matter how vague or unreliable, into a dozen new "BREAKING NEWS" clickbait articles to keep their advertising revenue up. Don't believe anything you see there until it's reported by more credible sources.

(Of course, given the OP's history of making threads like "I feel like power gamers / WAAC players are under appreciated", I suspect that they're entirely familiar with BOLS's approach to rumors.)

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I have never heard anyone call AoS that actually, but the reason they would has alot less to do with good vs bad rules and more to do with trying to get a younger crowd.

The phrase pick what ever model you like do what ever you want hell if you think it is fair so do we. Goes really well with the younger "stop telling me what to do crowd" thats why aos is always going to be not so great. Go into any place playing AoS the crowd is usually 12-16 with some very creep older men playing with them with some very uncomfortable parents watching.

At the age of 28 I feel I have become to old to play aos along with pokemon. So I will buy some stuff for personal enjoyment just like pokemon, but as for adults going to tornies and opening bars for the older crowd haha no never work.

Oh my god I hate my tablet no words show up until about 6 are down then they all appear with a random few missing, then when I go to correct it all the ones after that word get deleted -_-

Can't help but notice this is the third thread they've started about "40k being sigmar'd" also. Really into the idea, I guess.

I haven't seen it called that either. However, my LGS AOS crowd seems to be mostly people my age, 23-28 year olds. I see more under-18s at the 40k events. Your anecdote, my anecdote. Tomato, tomato.
