Been playing around with the idea of a 5th Core choice for the Incursion that has Troops from all 4 Chaos gods.
Units in this Formation would be:

1 Khorne Herald & 1 unit of Bloodletters
1 Tzeentch Herald & 1 unit of Pink Horrors
1 Nurgle Herald & 1 unit of Plaguebearers
1 Slaanesh Herald & 1 unit of Daemonettes

What would be some good Formation benefits?

Reroll failed saves from the chart results that hurt your dudes maybe?

I'd probably even go one step better and make them immune to the God results (5, 6, 8 & 9) rolled in your shooting phase (so that mirror match ups can still hurt you).

That and/or maybe some Deep Strike safety (re-roll results on the Mishaps table, or maybe D6" scatter rather than 2D6" scatter).

Could always go with "enemies suffer -1 to Fear rolls caused by models from this Formation", as terrible (and useless) as that is 99% of the time. It's probably what GW would have done

What if, because of their temporary alliance, the Heralds locis effect all units in this formation regardless of which God they are daemons of.
This would make for some truely terrifying daemon units with: Hatred, Rage, FnP, +5I, etc. (Tzeentch Locis don't really help too much)

Might have to bump up the number of units required though so it can't be used to power bomb on lower point levels.

expand it to include one "cavalry" unit (Rotflies, Bloodcrushers, seekers and screamers) from each of those and give them the benefit of immunity from the Warp Storm shenanigans, the usual "reroll warlord traits" one, except only from the base Warlord Traits, and possibly Assault From Deepstrike?

Ok, so far I like the ideas.

1 Herald for each god
1 unit of each Troop (except Nurlings)
1 "Steed" unit of each god

Maybe they could have the "Shared Power" rule like the Tetrad? I like the shared Loci idea, but I think maybe you get to pick 1 Herald at the start of each game and all units in the Formation within 12" can benefit from its Locus as if they we aligned with that god.
