Thanks in advance for your advice.

I bought Artemis, Kill team Cassius, Corvus Blackstar, Watch Master, and the 5 man Deathwatch Kill Team.

So, obviously, most everything I mentioned has straight forward assembly. Weapons and such are pretty much chosen. However, for the 5 man team, I want to gear them up to work specifically with the main army in big games, and have that team as a Kill Team (following the new boxed Kill Team rules). However, in doing so, am I robbing myself of "all they can be" in a big (1500-1850 pts) game?

Has anyone put together a Deathwatch Kill Team for that boxed game yet?

Well for my core killteams in the "big games" as;

3x veteran
2x veteran w/frag cannon
2x terminator w/ thunder hammer + storm shield + cml

In killteam I remove the terminators as its against the rules, I take 1 more vet with a stalker pattern Bolter and give my leader a power sword.

So your killteam can work perfectly in both the main game and the "killteam" game like that. Just requires swapping one model (probably from kill team Cassius) in to use instead of terminators.

Note this would also work with infernus heavy bolters too.

Cheers,

Thanks!

I planned on making a frag cannon, infernus bolter, model with hood and two swords, shotgun model, and mace/shield mini from the 5 man box.

I can always use models from Cassius for the kill team too!

There ain't no way you're taking those terminators into a Kill Teams game...

And more broadly, I think Kill Teams benefits from variety in a way that is more of a hindrance when applied to a squad in a regular game, by virtue of the fact that you're going to have a variety of weapons with special effectiveness on different kinds of targets, but only have the ability to shoot at one of them.
