Hey dakka, I recently acquired some Vallejo black, just regular black, from my FLGS as my other black paints ran out, and so far the paint has flown amazingly and covered quite well, but theres on issue with it...

when it dries it ends up very glossy, like extremely glossy. Did I get an onion? Or does that happen with time to Vallejo paints? Or does this specific paint always dry like this?

Thank you!

yeah my vallejo black does that too, not sure if it's an age thing.

I actually got some cheap acrylic from a stationary shop and it gives me a nice matte black, I keep the vallejo for when I *want* gloss now

I use the vallajo air paint just to paint with and it works fine, make sure you are shaking the crap outta it before you use it

To many unpainted models to count.

The shaking fixed it, thank you good sir!

I am a regular Vallejo fan. Great paint, goes on thinner than most which is excellent to preserve detail and to blend layers but if you believe you've shaken your Vallejo paint sufficiently, shake it more. And maybe another round of shaking thereafter just for good measure. Seriously.

What is the number of the bottle?
If you want a really matt (In my opinion this is the best of any acrylic paint range) black then the bottle number is 950.
