Hey there!

How many PSI should I use to basecoat my figures with vallejo primer? I use an Harder & Steenbeck Ultra airbrush with a .2 needle.
I am very new to airbrushing, so a rough guideline when to use higher or lower PSi would be appreciated aswell.

The .2 needle's very fine. If you can swap out for .4. You're extremely likely to get nozzle clogs with a .2

I shoot at around 20psi for priming, and most purposes.

With a fine needle you'll need thinner paint (yes, even the Vallejo Model Air).

In general, opaque coats will be thicker paint mix, higher pressure. Less opaque you want thinner paint, less paint flow, higher pressure for longer distance 'filtering'. For fine spray, lower the pressure and paint flow and get in closer.
