Hello everyone!

I'm new here.

I"m a 30 year old male, slightly unattractive Dutch wargamer who's been out of the hobby for quite a while, but currently getting back into the action.
Currenly don't have any pets or children, but do have a cute girlfriend I met at the local hobby store. yay! they exist!

I started my wargaming life as a really small kid still in elementary school I guess, around the age of 8 or 9.
I collected plastic army men, painted them using those thick humbrol enamel paints and old brushes I found around the house.
I took the dice from every board game I had at the time and came up with a really crude machanic of playing with them.

At the age of 13, I got my first GW dudes. That really old box of 6 Space Orks all in the exact same pose with axe and pistol.
Don't have those anymore, but my 2nd unit ever of multipart plastic Orks is still somewhere on the attic. The older ones didn't survive my destructive methods of organisation, before nostalgia had a chance to save them.

Got a busy job as a mechanic trying to fix what other people break.
Fiddling with small bitz has helped me being good at that job.
I'm a real-life techpriest! yay, or mekboy, staying in the theme of this forum.

There's loads of games I've collected armies for over the years.
Mostly I've been wasting time and money on Warhammer 40K, But also got myself some Bolt Action Germans, Dystopian Wars Black Wolf Pirates, old square based warhammer Chaos Warriors and other small projects for distraction.

Currently I've got my hands full with a bunch of plastic Betrayal at Calth marines, which I'm planning to apply an unholy amount of metallic paints to.
Hopefully they'll come out of that mess looking like Iron Warriors. Trying to give them a pre heresy look, but keeping them organised using the 40K chaos codex for now.

Once I've done a few test runs on some extremely unlucky snap fit test marines, I might start a project log here to keep myself motivated and actually finish that army within the lifespan of the current 40K edition.
Last one I've played was 5th, Seems we're at 7 now...

Some other things I like to do are Pathfinder RPG(kinda like rip off DnD, when that blew itself up) but really fun, collecting and fighting with swords (15th century european style), and archery. Though that last thing I haven't done in years, as I moved around to a new village and simply haven't picked that back up yet. Do still have my bow though, so that's just waiting to happen.

So far I think I've filled your heads with enough useless information, but if any more is wanted, feel free to ask!

Looking forward to joining the discussions here and having a good time with you all,

Cheers!

Can't think of something smart and funny right now...

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
