I felt like writing a comedy/theme list, but wanted to see if it has the potential to throw down against more serious threats too.

"Dark Mechanicus"

++Helforged Warpack++

Warpsmith w/ Combi-Melta - 120

Defiler w/ 3 Powerfists & TL Heavy Flamer - 195 [Alpha Beast, Warlord]

Forgefiend w/ Hades Autocannon - 175

Forgefiend w/ Hades Autocannon - 175

Forgefiend w/ Hades Autocannon - 175

Helbrute w/ Multimelta/Power Fist - 100

++Helcult++

Helbrute w/ Multimelta/Power Fist - 100

30 Cultists w/ 3 Flamers - 145

30 Cultists w/ 3 Flamers - 145

++Forgehost++

Soulgrinder of Slaanesh w/ Phlegm Bombardment - 180

Soulgrinder of Slaanesh w/ Baleful Torrent - 170

Soulgrinder of Slaanesh w/ Baleful Torrent - 170

Total - 1850

Notes: The Defiler is the Warlord because I get to do silly things with it, and nobody likes the idea of a *Walker* challenging out the Meltabomb sergeant from a squad. Sadly I don't get Warlord Trait rerolls, but Strategic is still funny to have. Move Through Cover (Ruins) is nice, as is Infiltrate (imagine an Infiltrating Defiler). One thing I'm contemplating is whether some points can be shaved

The Soulgrinders are of Slaanesh for Fleet, and there are times I may want to Run instead. They're pseudo-Maulerfiends for most intents and purposes.

The Cultists are Fearless by default, and if the Helbrute from their formation is destroyed, they simply become Zealots instead. They're basically Plague Zombies without the need for Typhus, as far as I'm concerned ("But FNP"..."On Toughness 3").

Vehicles may not be popular in 7th due to all the S6 floating around, but sometimes extreme saturation can give your opponent pause for thought.

The Warpsmith hides in one of the blobs as long as he can so the Fiends can benefit from Daemonforge, making them pseudo-Tank Hunters for most intents and purposes. In a pinch, he can serve as a hidden pair of Meltaguns.

Love the idea, hate the Forgefiends.

Maulerfiends just do it better for cheaper. You could have a wicked turn 2, with 4 Maulerfiends in position, and 3 other Soul Grinders which just deepstruck in -- or can foot it along with the maulerfiends. Since the Warpsmith can just foot it along with the Helcult, it's a great place to hide him and keep him out of trouble (cuz otherwise he's a waste of space.)

4 Maulerfiends will do work, and with the Soul Grinders helping to hold the flank, and huge blobs of Cultists to hold the objectives, I think it's great.

I just don't see the place for the Forgefiends. Maulerfiends get into their lines, must be dealt with, and 4 will cause serious problems, even for Wraithknights and Imperial Knights.

The Defiler as the Alpha Beast is flavorful and not at all bad, considering the Alpha Beast bonuses!

I was considering the same thing, but using a Lost and the Damned Core for a Black Crusade Detachment. I think yours might be better!

I highly reccomend phlem bombardment on all of your soul grinders, you dont understand how much that 1 extra AP and 1 extra strength changes about your soul grinder.

Fantastic!

I don't like Helcut, Mayhem Pack or Heldrake Terror Pack is better for me because you lack mobility in this list, some flyers or aip units can help you

My Armies:
CSM (Death Guard/Apostles of Contagion)
Daemons of Nurgle (VII Legion of Nurgle)
R&H (Veterans of Vraks)

I wanted bubblewrap hence the Fearless Cultists.

I was thinking and realized that if I wanted to make it a more serious threat, I could always swap out the Helcult and the Warpack Helbrute for a Gorepack; I also have the option to put the Warpsmith in a small unit of Flesh Hounds and Outflank him if needed...I would add several Melta teams of course.

I really like this list, makes me want to make a version of it.

It's an interesting concept. The sort of force a massive army would send forward to batter down the walls of a fortress

I have no idea how it would work on the table but it would be fun to find out
