Hey guys, I am working on my harelquin army and looking for new ideas on how to play them. One thing I was looking at was the new unique death jester from the death masque box set. He has shrouded, which combined with jink offers a 2+ cover save. If you take the skyweavers from the faolchu's blade detachment they can reroll jink saves. So if you make them a little slower by adding a death jester you can significantly increase their survivability. In combat they are not too shabby offering 4 s5 ap2 hits each on the charge. That should be able to tear through most things.

Do you guys think it is worth it? Should I give the death jester a cegorach's rose? He will be in the back of the unit most the time but the rose will let him do some work if he challenges and comes running forward.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

The only way it would be worth it would be if you conga lined the unit so that at least one of the skyweavers could move their full distance. The lack of speed for a cc unit is a real killer, but then again you have a re-rollable 2+ and shuriken cannons so...

Go for it and hope that you aren't playing against armies that can ignore cover.

Your better off just running multiple Shadow Seers and fishing for Shrouded to cast on the bikes, but it's hard to say it's worth it for a unit that's limited to 2 bikes.

The blades of fate are a unit of two with their rule of rerolling jink. If you take the falochu formation, the only requirement is two units plus a void weaver and they all reroll jink.

The main problem with the formation is that you can't take just one bike unit, otherwise you could take a full unit of 6 with the spectre. What I've found the spectre working well with is a unit of eldar scatterbikes for at least turn 1 2+ cover.

Skyweavers are okay for their points, but don't expect amazing things from them. Falochu's blade was better when you could take a spiritseer with falochu's wing from 6th ed eldar, as you could cast conceal and run 48" to keep up with them. The new wing restrictions prevent all psychic powers sadly.

Use the spectre for turns 1 and maybe 2 to keep the bikes alive.

Also - you can't cast Shrouding on the bikes, you simply have to be within 6" of the bikes with that psyker. Similar concept but different execution. Galef has the right idea.

Put some Autarch with a Banshee Mask and Laser Lance on a jetbike. Your Skyweavers will be spared overwatch when they go into assault. Makes a hell of a difference.
