Hello everyone, I'm a long time hobbyist coming back to the game after a few years hiatus. Before I took a break I was beginning to revitalise my Necron force (i.e. replacing all the poor paint-caked models I made when I was 12 with better painted minis) and so I'm picking up where I left off with this thread.
First off, here's what I have painted so far:
5 Immortals, with Tesla Carbines
10 Warriors
It's not much at the moment but I'm pushing myself to take my time and get a nice finished paint scheme on them, instead of rushing like I used to do. The colour scheme is inspired by a Destroyer Lord from the 3rd Ed codex with a really nice decorative red alongside the traditional silver. I've made some slight changes to it though to increase the depth and contrast in the red.

Here's a close up of my Necron Warrior and Immortal to better show how the red looks.
I'm quite please with how they are turning out. The red has taken a while to get used to but I think I'm getting better with it. I'm also trying to show different qualities of Living Metal in the different tiers of Necron society. So with the Warriors I'm dapling their joints with Agrax Earthshade and Seraphim Sepia, and the Immortals with 2 coats of Seraphim Sepia, to give the impression of age and dirt. The plan is to use just a single coat of Seraphim Sepia, and then the Lords and Overlords will have no wash to show their superior quality.
Next on the painting line is the rest of the Immortals, as well as the Overlord and a Lord. After that I just need to finalise my army list and work out what I need to buy next!

The Lord, with Warscythe
I hope you guys like them, unfortunately I wont have much time for painting these next few days (its so wet and cold here at the moment that I can't even spray the models) so there might not be many painting updates. I'm definitely going to work on improving my image quality though so hopefully I can get some better images of the squads as a whole.
++EDIT++
Played around with my lighting set up for a bit and manged to get better results, if you really want to see the red though I suggest clicking the images to view them in the gallery and zoom in of the details
