I like to run some artillery to supplement my daemons/KDK/CSM w/e flavor of the week chaos combo and was wondering if anybody does the same, and if they do, what have they found to be most effective?

Specific question:
So i was running the Forge host in combination with the new CSM powers and the cabal and rolling on geomortis for as many copies of "earthly anathema"(ignore cover and LOS) as i can get. Getting world writhe is also awesome because then i can just move somebody like a bloodthirster super far to get into combat quickly. I was separating the cabal up into either different fleshound squads(gorepack) or on their own in some cover with termie armor posted next to the soul grinders. However it got me thinking on how i could make this cheaper and i took a look at the emperors children sonic dreadnoughts. I can get 2 of them for 4 shots of S8 ap3 ignore cover blast instead of the 3 i get from the soul grinder formation and i could use my cabal's psychic on something else. ORR I could run a renegade knight for 2 rapid fire battle cannons and only cast earthly anathema once. This would use up my 1 LOW restriction for my meta tho. What im trying to figure out is the best combination of ignore cover S8 here, help a new chaos lord out guys!

General:
Additionally if you do something different for artillery or find it a waste of time tell me why, all insight is appreciated.

If you specifically want artillery, the FW Hades Autocannon guys aren't half bad.

Renegades and heretics have some of the most cost effective artillery in the game right now. 55 points gets you an earthshaker carriage that's T7 against shooting and has 4 or 6 bodies manning it. That's a S8 AP3 barrage pie plate and in a purge detachment you can easily spam them. Their HQ choice also has a devotion that allows you to fire said pie plate into close combat. Combine that with dirt cheap plague zombies and profit!

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I am away from my IA books right now, but could someone confirm whether you can buy multiple artillery carriages to make vehicle squadrons.
I know you can get multiple RLD's in one unit, which btw are some of the best artillery you can get, but I am unsure about the other artillery pieces.

If you can get them in squadrons then great! Bring Purge detachments as your allies and fill up your HS slots with earthshakers, Wyverns and RLDs, but be careful to leave something for your units to charge... Then continue to bomb the enemy whilst they're in cc.

You can take earthshakers, medusae, and quad launchers in squadrons.

There you have it then: fill up squadrons with artillery then cast your powers on them and turn the enemies deployement zone into a pock marked no mans land thinly covered in a vail of jam.

Just drop so many pie plates even the tau suffer from lack of firepower.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Thanks for all the insights guys. I decided on going with rapier batteries with heavy conversion beamers and laser destroyers. Illl throw the termi-sorcerer cabal in a band of slaneeshi marines with 2 blast masters and the icon of excess for fnp!
