Recently perfected my scotch eggs recipe by adding a layer of cheese and brown gravy to the eggs after the last five minutes of having them bake in the oven. I have found some articles on 1d4chan about making meatbread but I am not entirely sure I would be a fan of the recipes.

Other than processed junkfood from the bag, what do you guys use to feed your guests while you game?

TOO MUCH CHAOS!!!

We call it Ramen.

We get pizza and beer ourselves, I'll make it myself if I have the time.

Something without too much grease is what i would ideally want but thinking about game nights I've arranged, it's usually popcorn or nachos and salsa. so yes, processed junk food from a bag.

Next time i will totally make something like smoked salmon topped with thinly sliced radishes or something. maybe not smoked salmon actually, that might be a bit too fragrant. something nice.

realism is a lie

My gaming group has always been mostly a order out as a group or bring your own thing.

I would occasional feed the gang with a grill-and-game (dogs/brats/burgers) or occasionally a pot of chili or two.

I forgot about beer. Often one of the guys will stop by a local brewery and pick up a growler to share with the group. Tried a lot of odd beers that way. So while not technically a “munchy food” it’s pretty close. Especially some of the stouts. They can be a meal in and of themselves.

This is true. I never could finish more than two Guinness at a time.

Ironically I've had a 6 pack of the 8-9% IPAs / Victory / Weyenbacher and so on without issue. Guinness is brutally heavy

That reminds me. Word of warning: When someone is pouring from an unlabeled growler, be sure to ask what the APV% is. I’m used to the 1 beer/glass of wine/shot = 1 drink = 1 hour math. But beers these days have a much wider range then they used to. And some are surprisingly smooth for the kick they pack.

Not that I’ve drunk the equivalent of a whole 6 pack in a half hour-ish at gaming before without knowing it. Before the food showed up as well, so on an empty stomach. I ask these days.

We don't drink much when we roll play. We play in the evenings, and most folks have a pretty good drive home. Also, a few in our group hardly drink at all, anyway.

As for snacks, the typical fare is chips (Lay's BBQ and Doritos) and Welch's Fruit snacks.

Every few weeks, my wife will bake cookies, cake, or something. One of our players recently went gluten free, so she's made a few gluten free deserts.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I don't think there is a correct answer. Practicality would indicate that you should get food that isn't sticky, or too crumbly, it also has to be convenient and require no preparation.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Gummi bears. Why you ask?

Because they make amazing game board objectives. A gummi bear village here, and gummi bear fishing town there. And at the end of the game the winning army present the hostages to their general for consumption

I don't have an answer, but commenting to say I loooooove scotch eggs, and adding gravy and cheese sounds pretty good. I hope you group appreciates you cooking for them!
