So can someone with more knowledge of the lore refresh my memory on this, but isn't there a "sect" of Genestealers that the hive mind wont re-absorb due to certain mutations? And if so what if those Genestealers were to make a cult? would that even be possible? and would it be the only cult capable of surviving a Tyranid invasion?

Ymgarl Genestealers. Yes, they start Cults the same as every other indipendent band of Genestealers, their unstable mutations doen't effect the rest of the Cult, with the probable exception of 5th gen Genestealers, so they'll all get nomed by the Hive Fleet.

The thing with Genestealers is that they all want to leave the planet whilst they still can when they know the Hive Fleet is getting close to go start another Cult in a different system. with Ymgarl Genestealers, if they can't escape I imagine the Hive Fleet would just ignore them and leave them as the only bio matter left on the dead planet.
