So here is the deal...
I had originally intended on going full Daemons until the rumor mill lit up like a Christmas tree and let loose TSons. Once it was confirmed I already had a few Daemon pieces purchased after my 15 year vacation from the hobby.
I've got a Daemon Prince, 20 Pink Horrors, a Burning Chariot w/ Exalted Flamer, and Tzeentch Herald.
I built this prospective list:
Allied Detachment (Chaos Daemons: Codex v2004) (410pts)
HQ (130pts)
Daemonic Heralds (130pts)
Herald of Tzeentch
Exalted Locus of Creation, Psyker Level 3
Troops (180pts)
Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (90pts)
10x Pink Horrors
Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (90pts)
10x Pink Horrors
Heavy Support (100pts)
Burning Chariot of Tzeentch (100pts)
2x Blue Horror Crew, Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
Formation Detachment (Chaos Space Marines: Codex (2012) v2011) (1440pts)
Uncategorised
Force Options (Supplement options here)
Thousand Sons
Formation (1440pts)
War Cabal (1440pts)
Daemon Prince
Mastery Level 3, Power Armour, Spell familiar, The Black Mace, Tzeentch, Wings
Exalted Sorcerer
Astral Grimoire, Disc of Tzeetch, Mastery Level 3, Spell familiar
Rubric Marines
9x Rubric Marine, Soulreaper Cannon
Aspiring Sorcerer
Force Stave, Inferno Bolt Pistol, Melta Bombs
Scarab Occult Terminators
Hellfyre Missile Rack, Scarab Occult Sorcerer, 4x Scarab Occult Terminator, Soulreaper Cannon
Sorcerer
2x Additional Mastery Level, Combi-bolter, Mark of Tzeentch, Seer's Bane, Sigil of corruption, Spell familiar, Terminator Armour, Veterans of the Long War
Will this work for a semi-competirive environment? The plan is to attach the Grimoire Exalt to the Rubrics and have the terminators march up with the other Sorcerer.
The Daemon Prince will be AP2 and duel down enemies/squads and the Burning Chariot serves a similar purpose in hitting w/torrent or AP2 on vehicles.
Pink Horrors and Herald hang back to hold objectives on my end of the table.
Any suggestions?
Edit: Note the split groups of horrors is to end up with more squads of blue horrors vs. the extra warp charges from having one group. The Locus of Creation serves as a buffer from the split groups.
