I agree with this. If this is what you're excited to play then I say go with Ravenwing.
I usually give my Libby on bike the Shroud of Heroes, it's a pretty good upgrade for only 10 points.
Black Knights/Command Squad is a pretty solid.
I'd probably move the 1
LS with
AC (more on that later).
For the Ravenwing Attack squadron I'd change the 2
plas to 2 grav guns. These guys are pretty mean with gravguns/combi-grav since they are relentless and still have their
TL boltors for when they are shooting at those pesky low save models. Having 3 shots/gun at 18" for things like WKs is pretty awesome. And besides having a 1 extra shot, you don't run the risk of losing a biker to Gets Hot.
I would also probably put that 1 extra
LS here. Why risk having that many points in a model that could kill itself pretty easily and really isn't that good. Besides, the real advantage of this formation is getting your
MM to hit on a 2+ thanks to the +1
BS. Honestly, if you needed points you could just run the
LS with 2
HB to really guarantee a hit, doesn't matter if it wounds. The
AC rending is just a bonus and makes it a little more effective.
The Ravenwing Support Squadron looks pretty solid. If you get tight on points you can always drop the
AC from the
DS since it's real purpose is making your
RW harder to kill.
For the Lion's Blade
I usually treat the Company Master/Chaplain as a tax (since they pretty much are) and keep them stock. Put the points somewhere more useful.
I'd probably change the Las/
Plas turrets to
AC just because you'll likely be moving these guys a lot so even though you have 2 weapon systems you'll only be able to shoot 1 at full
bs most of the time and the other snap shooting. It's kind of a waste at that point since yo'll be paying for 1 weapon system you can't use effectively most the game. I'd stick with just a
TL LC at the least or go with the
TLAC (my personal favorite).
I'd also probably put the assault squad in a drop pod and keep them the way it is. I tend to do really well with them in the same configuration you have but in a pod. Plus it helps taking some of the fire off your rhinos. Of course, if you do this you may want to consider swapping out a rhino for a pod in one of the
tac squads to keep that 2 in turn 1 ratio.
The
Dev squad with Grav is solid. The Plasma cannons aren't the best, its pretty easy to space out well enough that their small blast template won't do much damage and they seem to not shoot/die a lot for me. You could drop the power sword from the
CM and probably put 2 Las in the rhino instead for a little
AT or really shuffle for 2 more grav.
Already talked about the Attack squad haha
Hope this helps!
