So.. in a world of Tanks and Troops and Things that Fly... I had a masochistic desire to change things up a little. I made a Tree. It was a bit masochistic, because I pulled the roots through holes drilled into the base, and my right hand is covered in scratches from the branches, while the left thumb's got a few pokes on it from the root wires.

But, here it is, my little creation. It's only just begun, I need a good filler to smooth things over, and then some flock and other such for the foliage, but you get the idea.

I did, but once the branches started spreading out, scratches happened. Similarly, I used my pliers, a set of bent needlenosers, to pull the roots securely into the base - they're actually pulled in through holes and bent to secure them in place until I can put some stuff in place to fill the base and flesh out the tree's nature.

Nice! A lot of work for a tree, but it looks good and the materials common. Flock? Leaves? Bare limbs? What's the plan??

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Yeah, I bought a massive coil of 20ga galvanized steel wire a little while ago, I use it for pinning normally. I might look for a secondary finer wire to make smaller branches, but the idea's likely going to be flock, in a shade similar to cherry blossoms. I've got some pumice gel that I'm going to mix some Baneblade Brown into and use on a chunk of the base with some Agrellan Earth here and there.

Looks great! Even at this stage it's very "tree-like" (knotted root-work and such), lovely!
