He all i am back.
Fatty2.0 brings you my new take on wh40k budget armies.
Here i attemped to build a steel host 1750 point army using the bits i have and 10 euro. To make 12 tanks.
Stay tuned for army list and pictures. There will be weekly updates on monday

It's monday time for the first update. I have bought some foamboard 3mm thick and designed my own hull which is the same size as the normale leman russ.

With some ice lolly sticks i made a support for the tracks. The tracks them self are made from rubber which is textured. Its the same rubber as you find on saftey hammers for in your car. Got hold of them a while back when i had to make them. I still need to do some detailing and gap filling. Please tell me what you think

I have a great advantage that i all ready own some leman russes and a chimera. On top of that i have some forgeworld kits and weapons i own or have looted from a friend. So most gun barrels i dont have to make cause i have the bits.

After i build the 1750 point army i do want to make more tanks and maybe i can have a complete scrats build tank army by then. My goal is to let people know warhamer can be cheap. On the plus side this is GW legal as most is either made from their bits or completly scrap build.

This army will get super heavy's i got a stompa but kinda wand to build a baneblade out of foambord

So i found some time to add detail to my tank and fill the gaps here are the results love to hear what everybody things. The foambord has been cut in so it all fits.
Vanquisher with hull mounted heavy bolter as a buddy tank for my tank commander.

Please bear in mind that this project is a budget project so the details are few and far in between but the purpose of the project is to have an army to play the game with bits and 10 euro. I use bits but you can use anything to make the tanks. And i choose a tank army as i really like the idea and i hate painting infantry. Plus this is the easiest army to scrap build on the cheap

Scratch building on a budget is most definitely something i can get behind.

Thanks man, right now i am building the first part of the 1750 list. When that is done i build the same list again so 2 parts each 875 points. I like to have 2 fronts in a blitzkrieg style play.
And it gives me the chance to do things i thoughed of while i build 1 tank that i really want to try aswell

I have so far build 5 tanks. 3 of which are just rebuild imperial vehicles i had. And 2 (including the one above) i build out of foambord. But they are not finished yet and right now i wanna focus on the foamboard tanks.

Might do a full base for eacht tanks but that would be outside of the actual 10 euro budget as that is purely for softpoints in a tournament.

Stay tuned i have an epic idea for an executioner which i am building next the top is finished but i wont spoil anything wait for the next update to see it.

Its 3:37 in the morning here (dont worry i work in the evenings) and i got enough work done on the tank i looked most forward to build.

But here it is the shokk attack executioner (i fudged up and in the gallery its called a vanquisher)

The two bars will become the tracks. If somebody made something similar before me.... Fudge i thoughed i was original but this is my personal favorite this far

Just a quick text update.
5 out off the 6 tanks are build and here is a small list i will use against a friend somewhere in the next 2 weeks or so.
Tank commander in vanquisher with lascannon (build and base coated)
Buddy tank is a vanquisher (build and base coated)
Standard lemann russ (build and basecoated)
Exterminator with multimelta sponsers (build but needs more details)
Punisher with heavy bolter sponsers (i made the gunbarrel)
Hydra (build and basecoated)

And the first base. I want a grot village so i will make one on the bases just for soft points at tournaments. Otherwise i use them as terain. This is a project outside the 10 euro budget as this is not fital for the army

As promised my basis for the punisher. Still need to add the gun and sponses. Saturday i have a test match against a good friend and my right hand in my gaming club rising empire.

We will see how this goes and with this i am half way through my 1750 point list. Starting from friday march the 3rd you can expect more paint on the models as i will get a airbrush by then as my old air brush was getting to old and broke.

Mr Fatty2.0, do you intend to use this army to play against other people? It's impressive that you can build all this from scratch, but, and call me a snob if you want, if I brought 1750 points down for a game and got greeted with this army, I'd just wouldn't play.

I underdstand you and thats all good. This hobby has something for everyone. Please do bear in mind that it all needs painting and most of the models need some detailing or added weapons. All models are to scale to a true leman russ so no advantage modeling.

I play with these models yes right now i am playing a small 800 game against a friend. The true goal with this army is to show the hobby doesnt cost 800 dollars, euros of ounds to play. You can do it with 10 euro right now all i spend is 3,50.

If you wouldnt mind what is your biggest problem with these models?

Maybe in the Netherlands, and while I'm not a GW representative, I'm not sure it would fly in an English GW.

And I play partly because I like looking at the great GW models all painted up on a board with good terrain, and I've put many, many hours into painting my own force and also shovelled in a lot of money because this matters enough to me that I'm willing to...
And then I'm looking across the table at some Leaman Russ turrets and other assorted bitz on cardboard boxes.

I have many hours and a lot of money invested into gw. The way this is gw legal is because i use gw bits and scratch build my stuff. Even third party models are alloud if they contain atleast 75% gw parts or scratch build materials. I used to be a gw representetive (outrider when this was a thing). And fair enough everyone has there own reasons. I am never mad because of someones opinion.

But do please stick around after this project and during i will post pics of my bloodbowl team (the new skaven team) and my space marines (the grot chapter)

Well a update, i smoked the army of my friend..... But the tank army that i played felt like it missed something so i am putting the project on a temperary hold. As i think about how to adjust the army in a fun way

In the mean time i will focus on the other stuff like blood bowl, the blood bowl league i will be holding with my friends. Some crazy conversions are in coming very soon. I will begin on the pitch tommorow and the team when it is in.

I will take a short break on updating as i got a bday comming up. Switching between houses really hurt my modeling time.

Some sick bases are incomming for my grot marines i wanna tie them in with the tank army so i can use them as allies

The blood bowl team is in and props to gw. The new snap fit models are incredible. They fit so snug i really dindt have to use glue. Monday i will start painting them with my new airbrush and give the citadel air paints a go.

The bases is karak stone air
Over that many many many layers of aero color pro titanium yellow green shade. After that a overspray with carbon black ink.

Straight from the box set. There snap fit so no modeling there. GW out did themselfs i am quick with critique but give credit where credit is due. The blood bowl pitch is comming along quite well but havent taken the time to take a pic yet. Thats for tuesday

I made a display for the skaven team the lucky 13.
Its simple but wil fit the team.

I painted a bit more on the lucky 13 and used my own secret methode to make my golden/brons which none shall know! It is just earo color profesional burnt sienna over the army painter shining silver thats it. Nothing more nothing less.

All on display, that they fit is pure luck i just put somethings together and decided to wing it
