I'm thinking of picking up the Kill Team starter with the SM Tactical Squad and the Tau Fire Warriors as a short project with the aim of having two highly characterful, heavily converted KT forces.

This should be easy with the SM half, as that Tactical Squad kit is really a thing of beauty in terms of customising potential if you're willing to put the work in. The Tau though I've never dealt with before, what sort of potential for conversion and character in the set? Would I be able to get every Fire Warrior to look genuinely individual with a reasonable amount of conversion work, or is it one of those kits where you basically have to build it stock if you want it to look good? Any examples of conversions you can do with the set would be cool to see as well.

And while I'm here, not strictly a P&M question but if anyone has a good 200 Point Kill Team Tau list that can be built from the FW box, that'd be handy to see as well.

It's not gonna let you go super crazy like the SM kit will, but you can definitely do some cool stuff.

Were you building them as Breachers(Blaster) or Strike Team(Carbine/Rifle)?

At this stage, I'm not really sure, I was actually considering going half and half as they're going to be used purely for Kill Team. I've never played Tau so I don't really know how their units break down, would splitting the models like that be a good idea for KT games? It'd help visually to get some more variety, so if it's doable then that's probably the route I'd go.
