Hi Guys! Im gonna have a tournament soon and a lot of people play the space marine pay to win company that gives you free transports.
At 1500 pts they get at least 350 pts of bonus and basically there is too much ObSec vehicles for me to deal with; at Eternal war I dont stand a chance, maybe Maelstrom if Im lucky with kill points...
Anyway all of this is just theoryhammer, never played against, what are ur experiences and suggestions? I play CSM btw

What kind of comp is there or is there any?

In tournaments I mostly play at the Maelstrom cards you can score each turn is limited to two. This makes BC a lot easier to handle. Missions also contain Eternal War component too, but as the game goes on and you get to lessen the marines without them getting a huge lead in maelstrom points, even the Eternal War mission can go either way.

Hi, if you play a typical italian tournament you can't win as 2/3 of the lists are SM and eldar at their best. So you can win one game, maybe two if you're very prepared and lucky but defeating 4-5 times in a row lists like those ones is impossible.

Unfortunately everyone only wants to win at any cost here, that's why tournaments really suck, unless there are a lot of restrictions to keep the game more balanced or there's some sort of agreement among players in order to avoid the cheesiest things.

A preliminary brief thought is to get some of those Obliterators formation, then a few Heldrake Terror Pack formation. Use Obliterators to knock open their Razorbacks, then Heldrakes burn anyone fallen out. The survivors might run away from the objective they sat on because that -2 Ld.

Yeah, sadly there's no kind of limitation in here (even unbound is permitted lol) cus the comunity is pretty small. And yes, my heavy fire + heldrakes + hate should do the thing, but there's simply too much stuff to handle

Unfortunately the CSM codex sucks.

Traitor Legions gives us a bit more oomph (I'm building Death Guard Vectorium at the moment - T6 bikes and relentless havocs seem pretty decent), ally in a Renegade Knight for more power.

Tournaments are usually aimed at people trying to win. Perhaps you should stick to fluffy games?

He can work with traitors. Iron warriors get obsec oblits that tank hunt. He has autocannon havocs. The CSM codex is now mid to high tier. He can def. make it work it just depends on your models and your tactics.

Traitors legion is pretty op trust me: I have a deathstar of thousand sons obliterators, the warpsmith as the astral grimore, there is the cyclopian cabal, and a alpha legion sorceror with the mindvail.
So you have an immortal deathstar (with 11 dices Im pretty sure to get an Invisibility or warp fate, plus the 3++ of being TS) moves 12', automatic hit n run, and a lot of Instant Death Axes, plus a chainfist of a terminator sorcerer, and shoots like hell. Then spawns and infiltrating cultists for objectives n a drake. 1500 pts.
It's a list of my invention, never saw online, unless there s a battle company or a silence siters and grav spam, I think its pretty unbeatable if the dices roll ok.

Eeeehhhh? Why are you taking a warpsmith or thousand sons obliterators? Can you show your list, because it doesn't sound...correct. The way you listed it makes it sound like you mixed and matched units.

Lol... it's sounds strange because the sons of magnus shows just the formation for the decurion, but I can play just the formation, I try to be clear as possible:
1-I play cult of destruction, which has no restrictions (the cabal must be BL for example), and it's ok just for itself.
2-''ANY detachment of CSM can be played as one of the nine legions'' and in the rulebook says ''Formation are A SPECIAL TYPE OF DETACHMENT'', so as I can play a death guard cult of destruction, I can play a TS one, ofc they CANT be in the sons of Magnus decurion
3- Giving the tzeentch mark, I meet all requirements, the Smith is a Character, he can have Astral Grimore

Automatically Appended Next Post:
In a nutshell, my 1500 list has: TS cult of destruction, Cyclopian cabal, Alpha Legion CAD.
All the character can be together because the only mark its the Tzeentch one, BL and AL have no marks.
