Relatively new player here trying to navigate the ambiguities of the 7th Ed rulebook. Although bikes look like vehicles, I assume their different unit type means that they are not susceptible to haywire weapons such as Tau EMP grenades? If anyone could clear this up for me I'd be grateful.

I'm *assuming* that the defining characteristic of a vehicle is armour facings... so a Drop Pod and a Dreadnought would be affected but a Tau Battlesuit would not be?

Haywire only affects vehicle.

Are bikes & Tau suits considered vehicles by the rules?

Spoiler:
No, they are not

They should, but they can't.

Power Armor should be too by that logic...

They do in Infinity, but that's a whole different other game.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

You still have a strength associated with the weapon (usually low, so you probably aren't affecting a bike, but there may be a higher strength haywire weapon I forgot about), but the haywire portion doesn't affect bikes since the game doesn't classify bikes as vehicles.

I think a nice addition to the Haywire rule might be to add +2 Str to the weapon against units with the Bike unit type, maybe even the Jet-pack sub-type (although that wouldn't make much since against Nurgle Plague Drones)

While this goes in to Proposed Rules, Warmahordes has a "Construct" type that could be used similar and allow Haywire to be used against certain, not-so-creature Monstrous/Gargantuan Creatures like Riptides and Wraith Knights. It could allow for an immunity or resistance to Poison and makes it vulnerable to Haywire.

Forge World already have this for 30k; Mechanicum cyborgs trade resistance to poison effects for vulnerability to haywire.
