After getting a lot of great feed back from last week's report

https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/717527.page

I changed up my list:

Quadruple CAD

MAWB BP with 10 Boyz in Trukk Rokkit RR
MAWB BP with 10 Boyz in Looted Wagon 3 Rokkits RR
Single Deffkopta x 2
Single Lobba, no upgrades

All of that x 4 = 2000 points

Total of 120 models in 36 units of which a quarter are ObSec

I deployed the four LW's equidistant apart in the center of the table and far enough apart that a non-scattering Large Blast will only hit one. Warlord is in the grey, yet-to-be-painted, Looted Wagon. On both sides of that went two Trukks each. The Deffkoptas went in the gaps in between and will Scout move sideways in front of the Wagons and Trukks.

The four Lobbas hung out in the craters holding the objectives.

First turn everything but the Lobbas moves up 12". I didn't bother Flat out moving with the Trukks and Wagons since the opponent was running a CC heavy Harlequins list with Eldrad from some new book I haven't seen before. Apparently he was running either two similar formations are double of the same. He had four units of foot troops, three units of dual bikes with two dudes on a bike, two Harlequin Raider-type vehicles each having one of their two guns only being able to fire in the rear arc?!?!, a couple of Death Jestering fellows, and Eldrad the Eldar Dad. This next picture was after my first shooting phase, eight twin-linked and twelve regular Rokkit shots gave me First Blood by exploding a Raider. The Lobbas were disappointing when 3 out of 4 scattered and I had none of my usual rerolls!! Sad panda face. Some other randos took some Rokkits to the face. Eldrad took one unsaved wound from snap-firing MAWB twin-linked Shootas!!!

As promised by my opponent, most of his army moved forward to assault my vehicles. His shooting was ineffectual and Psychic powers were mostly defensive. No Ork vehicles were harmed in the making of this battle report. Eldar got some crazy new wargear and rules recently.

The next picture shows the aftermath of the assault: every Deffkopta was destroyed with the exception of one which was able to Hit and Run 14" straight back towards the opponents table edge. This lone Mek will go on to claim the center objective (#5) which I drew twice! MSU FTW!

Second movement phase: I Tank Shocked as many units as possible while only moving 6" ( really missing the old Red Paint Job and Deffrolla rules!!! SAD) causing a single unit of jet bikes ( the same unit that allowed the Deffkopta to escape, just not their day!) to flee a total of 4" with 3 dice

Huh, didn't even realize it cut off LOL

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Eight unharmed mobs of Boyz and Bosses jump out to assault his entire army (his list had a total of 47 models). I felt like a fool since I ditched the objective where my warlord kills an enemy character in a challenge, extra points if it's the enemy warlord. My Warlord (Ghaz model) is a few inches away from EldarDad! Two Looted Wagons rolled "1" for Don't Touch That! and Tank Shocked two more units.

This next picture shows the funnest moment of the game. First my warlord is denied his charge against Eldrad since I shot him off the table so it's a good thing I ditched that objective last game. Second, I multi charged the remaining Raider and a Death Jester (already removed, see gap between the Trukks on the right) and the Raider exploded 6" hit all 11 models in the top unit (the one with the headless/armless MegaArmored Nob count-as MAWB), seven models in Ghaz wannabe's unit, six models from the unit lead by my Kustom built MAWB in grey, and a Trukk! This explosion had the potential to remove more Ork models than anything else that happened this game, reminds me of the good ol days of most of my army dying due to my own vehicles exploding. Due to the Warbosses being the closest models they took all the hits at 2+!

Note: all Boyz are Sluggas, proxying Shootas et al for now.

End result of Turn 2 Assault Phase:

He has one Jetbike and two mooks in retreat. I didn't split off any MAWB's from their units so no one could Sweeping Advance which is fine because I wanted to keep at least one unit alive to pull more objectives turn 3. Notice the lone, wounded, Deffkopta holding objective 5. We were playing Mission Two where you draw as many cards as objectives you hold so I drew six more top of three. Ended the game with more than three times the number of objectives so a Major Victory for 5 league points.

I got to tell you I'm really loving this list. It's fast, intimidating, resilient in its redundancy, and now with actual firepower!

There's a 64 player tournament in St. Cloud, MN in June that I'm signed up for and am currently planning to bring a version of this list. My Achilles heel is that the army needs to be completely assembled and painted! Yikes, I've got a lot of work to do between now and then!

Nice!

I'm not sure about the looted wagons, turbo-boosting only 6" seems bad against a fast army. In that case it was worth it I guess.

That's my biggest fear with this army, playing against a fast army (like a dark eldar list with only skimmers and jetbikes). You will be [not] running after him all day!

Interesting and efficient army and quite an impressive result. As a fellow Ork player, it is nice to see da boyz get in a good stompin'. This list helps give me some ideas.

But is it normal to allow as many detachments and formations as you want in an army? I've never played a tournament but it seems like they might limit the number to prevent this kind of MSU spam.

Feel free to check out my latest battle report in my blog in my signature (Orks vs Marines, all painted). I may try to get it on Dakka eventually to make it easier for you all to look at it but uploading and linking all the pics (again) is just painful.
