I started AoS recently and I was wondering about gear on liberators. Can I mix gear like 2 with shield and hammer 1 with 2 swords etc..? Also can I give the special weapon to the exemplar to get an extra attack with it?

You can give the specialmweapon to the prime/exemplar, and all of the Stormcasts in the unit must be similarily armed.

So four hammer/shields liberators and a grandblade/hammer prime is fine.

two swords/shields liberators, a paired swords liberator, a paired warhammers liberator and a grandhammer prime would be not fine.
