I am not a fan of the Horus Heresy series of books, though I have read a few. The concept of perpetuals has creeped up over the last few years and I'd like to read a bit about them and be brought up to speed. I have two reasons for this. First is to form my own opinion on the matter with a solid foundation, and second is to see if they're somehow related to the Senseis in Ian Wattsons Inquisition wars. So what books should I read that feature or sheds light upon the perpetuals?

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

Ah the Sensei knights,
Ole Drakos spirit stuck in the webway.
Perpetuals take many flavours these days. Some times they just turn up after death. Sometimes they need a fulgarite to the chest to put them down. Sometimes they need a elder races help to be reborn.
Theres a few NL shorts, were one gets killed and wahlah hes in the next room.
The Emp was chatting with Ollianus Pius in... I want to say Fear To Tread. Says well have many opportunities to have quiet lives.

Thanks for the book suggestions. My LFL (Local friendly library ) has a copy of legion lying around and I'll have some reading time next month. I'll dig into it then.

Yep. I ran into a weird chain of coinsidences and I'd like to explore it further. The senseis portray some very perpetual like properties. They turn out to have some form of relation to Tzeentch. If you read my theory on Yarrick being a perpetual (should be on page two at the time of writing) there's a detail I forgot in it. During his first mission as a commissar Yarrick encounters a Tzeentch deamon that changes him in some way. I'd like to read this myself and see if Perpetuals have some tzeentch-ish tendencies. If you are a weaver of fates with masterplans spanning multiple millenia then having agents (unkowing or not) that live through said timespans might be immensly usefull.

Basicly I want an answer to "did Tzeentch do it?".

Well its Gdubs. So of course Tzeentch did it. Unless Its Yarrick, then its the Orks done it.
Tzeentch did lead Drako down, or was chasing him down the garden path. Or probably both. Then again they did want to turn the human race into a tyranid, hydra like organism. If hes to be believed.
In death he ended up hanging around with the Eldar perpetuals. The Phoenix lords. Reborn in the place the warp cant touch. But whether they ended up being agents of Tzeentch is unknown, just cause there is no story. Yet.
As much as the eldar bang on about the of Lord excess, being the culprit. The other Gods would have had had their fingers in the pie.
Maybe perpetualness is a lesser effect of the soulless gene, which the Necrons were supposed to have introduced. The crons are stuck in robit bodies, cause of what ever whotziface said. Flesh to metal, hows that for change.

I feel that GW shouldn't have come up with the perpetuals
