Hey Guys- First time posting. Getting back into 40k after a long hiatus. I put together a 1000 point GK+Inquisition army. It's pretty rough. Let me know what you think!

[CAD] Grey Knights

HQ/Warlord: Librarian (w/Terms.)- 120 pts.
Demon hammer
Storm bolter

Troops: Terminators x5- 195 pts.
Halberds x5
Storm bolters x5

Strike Squad x5- 120 pts.
halberds x5
storm bolter x5

Heavy Support: Dreadknight- 195 pts.
Powerfist
Nemesis Greatsword
Hvy. psycannon
Hvy. incinerator

[Allied Detachment] Xenos Inquisition

HQ: Xenos Inquisitor (w/ Servitors)- 70 pts.
Conversion Beamer
Force Sword

Xenos Inquisitor (w/ Crusaders)- 65 pts.
Force Sword x2
Servo Skulls x3

Elites: Warband #1- 100 pts.
Servitor w/ Plasma Cannon x4
Psyker x2

Warband #2- 115 pts.
Crusaders x3
Deathcult Assasins x3
Ministorum Priest

Warband #3- 50 pts.
Acolytes w/ boltguns x10

The basic idea is to hold up the enemy with the inq. shooters and tarpit with the crusaders. GK terms deepstrike in and capture territory/ close combat. I shunt with the DK and support the terms with the strike squad.

You need to buy the teleport with the NDK, puts him at like 225 points. The strike squads are kinda subpar, people try to avoid using them. NDK is your best unit and if you can find room to take a 2nd that would be ideal. As for the librarian, I think most would recommend taking ML3 and/or the book relic which gives you 4 powers.

Would also ditch both the Inq and take Inq Coteaz, he is only 100 points, comes with artificer armor, a daemon hammer, and he would give all of your warbands objective secured.

I would probably just make something like this...

Nemesis Strike Force

Librarian (1) - 160pts
1 Librarian: Nemesis warding stave,Psyker (Mastery Level 3),Domina Liber Daemonica

Terminator Squad (5) - 165pts
1 Terminator Justicar: Nemesis force sword,Storm bolter
4 Grey Knight Terminator: Nemesis force sword,Storm bolter

Nemesis Dreadknight (1) - 225pts
1 Nemesis Dreadknight: Power fist and Nemesis greatsword,Heavy psycannon,Heavy incinerator,Personal teleporter

Nemesis Dreadknight (1) - 225pts
1 Nemesis Dreadknight: Power fist and Nemesis greatsword,Heavy psycannon,Heavy incinerator,Personal teleporter

Inquisitorial Representative

Inquisitor Coteaz (1) - 100pts
1 Inquisitor Coteaz

Acolytes (5) - 42pts
1 Acolyte: Storm bolter,Chainsword
3 Acolyte: Boltgun,Chainsword
1 Acolyte: Boltgun,Storm shield

Acolytes (5) - 42pts
1 Acolyte: Storm bolter,Chainsword
3 Acolyte: Boltgun,Chainsword
1 Acolyte: Boltgun,Storm shield

Acolytes (5) - 41pts
1 Acolyte: Storm bolter,Chainsword
3 Acolyte: Boltgun,Chainsword
1 Acolyte: Laspistol,Storm shield

Your point allocation seems off. Terminators with just 5 Halberds should be 175 points, not 195 points. Taking those 20 points you saved, you can turn the Strike Squad into an Interceptor Squad, which is basically just a superior version of the Strike Squad (has a 12" move and can shunt like a Dreadknight).

I'd recommend seeing if we can grab a 2nd Dreadknight somewhere in there too. They're incredibly powerful and are the backbone of most Grey Knight forces.

You're using the Inquisition Detachment from Codex: Inquisition, right? In that case, do not take Coteaz as recommended without asking your opponents first. His Codex: Inquisition form does not provide Objective Secured and some people might object to taking his C:IA version in a C:Inquisition detachment.

If you're gonna keep a melee Xenos Inq. on the team I'd recommend finding a way to put some RAD grenades on him. The -1 Toughness is one of the biggest contributions he can usually make.

Warband 3 might be worth dropping when you're looking to make room for more points. Acolytes with Bolt Guns won't do or survive much in my opinion. You can give your Terminators a Psycannon and grab an extra ML on your Librarian for the cost of that Warband.

It's a good core of a list though. I think you're looking in the right direction for what you want. You just want to focus on maximizing point investments and maybe look into how you plan to actually get the Inq. force upfield to engage the enemy.

The list I provided WAS using C:IA and I provided the formation name as well. The acolytes have plenty of customization, they can take power weapons, stormshields, carapace or power armor he can make his own "crusaders" or anything else he wants.

He listed he was using an allied attachment, which he CANNOT do with codex inquisition. Those units count as elites, and it cannot put any units in the troops slot, not to mention an allied attachment only has 1 elites slot anyway.

One cool thing to note would be taking a psyker in every acolyte squad to get extra warp dice. At 18 points for a bare-bones squad this way, that's cheap for 1 extra warp dice. Also, since you are taking 2 detachments of Inquisitors, I think you can do this up to 6 times for just above 100 points.. not too bad IMO
